FYI You cannot Advance the Solitaire when using Blitz - it's specifically used with a Normal move. Advance and Normal move are different things. Edit: Ok, y'all caught this. Good stuff :)

As an eldar player i think brian is just wrong on the changes. the fate dice is a good change. First of all mircale dice came first so idk why ur salty about that. 2nd of all it was good to reduce the amount as before anything that gave u fate dice was useless like guardians eldrad and the enchanctment. Now u actually have a reason to take those units. 3rdly miracle dice are not just strictly better. Yes u get more but u get them later in game vs face dice u can use to get an early lead with key units. It a trade off to get less but when they matter more.

You can still use a re roll save on the MVB even thought he isnt as psyker as long as he is within 18" of one.

@@Deldar1990 you choose a psyker to do the ritual but he then chooses a thousand sons model to apply it to. The strat for making a failed save zero damage is different. That has to be applied to a psyker model.

Great video as always! Idk I am new to the game but the way they changed phantasm i would have prefered if they just removed it. Its pure luck now, it might be as useful as before or complete waste of a CP and for me personally thats very unfun to play. I feel pressured to still use it bc it might be good but it doesnt feel good to rely on complete luck.

I love the channel, but as a Thousand Sons player these games can be rough to watch lol. Things like not using the Infernal Masters free 6 for a save or weaver of fates which is a single reroll within the range, not a single reroll for each unit in range. I know they play a lot of armies and that's part of what makes the channel great, but it feels like these tricksie armies get a little left behind in the skill curve

Also note they couldn't blank the save on the MVB. Illegal or just bad plays make it hard to watch T'Sons as a T'sons player. Understandable but it's become enough to deter me from watching T'Sons battle reports outside of tournament live stream replays

I've always been told that weaver of fates is one reroll only not per unit in range. Is there an faq I can refer opponents to?

Anyone have a recommendation of another Battle Report channel, something between this and 40k in 40 mins? 40k in 40min removes too much of the strategic talk, but I don't like all of the stream interaction in these. Something that includes the entire game but doesn't add in additional stuff like chat questions and showing pet pics lol. I really wish there were edited versions of these that were posted after the stream.

Sure! The Blitz ability says "Once per battle, in your Movement phase, this model can use this ability before it makes a Normal move. If it does, until the end of the turn, add 2D6" to this model’s Move characteristic and add 3 to the Attacks characteristic of this model’s Solitaire weapons." Brian tried using this ability during an Advance move, using another stratagem to make the Advance an extra 6" movement on top of the extra 2D6 from Blitz. But you can't have both, since Blitz keys off a Normal move. They then decided to take the move back and not do it that round.

@@Yshelomov I didn't know advancing changed the type of movement it is. I thought advancing was the d6 extra inches, not the move + d6.

So, when you blank the save, the melta damage still adds on due to the damage changes in the commentary - set damage, divide, multiply, add, subtract. So Melta would have done 2 damage.... However this would have just let Magnus end the game on 1 wound remaining. Poor Brian, I feel for the eldar =)

How did you 'blanket' the damage on the first wound against the vortex beast?

I think he used the “Destined by Fate” stratagem which was illegal because it’s not a “psyker” model. I also haven’t seen him pay the CP for it yet and they are already on turn 2… sloppy game play so far. Enjoy their battle reps but TS is making a lot of rules mistakes. Seen this in other games as well. I always am rooting for TS but things like this cheapen the victory.

Eldar mechanics are good and funny, ppl who cry when play against Eldar is just they dont play well enough to beat Eldar.... Space elves are an army that rely on good positioning, trading and tactics... They have fate dice and good abilities BUT thats not the problem, is a T3 army with low wounds units... If they didnt had fate dice or good movement, or good positioning stratagems like phantasm, auto advance 6, fire and fade.... They would sck hard! GW should buff other armies and give units cool abilities instead nerf a good army like Eldar or GSC, GSC was cool at the begining of the edition, OP? Maybe, but now they are in the pit... GW just want money, they dont do any balance good, they always kill armies or pump another ones to the sky.... I feel like hating Eldars is a senseless old tradition.... No real reasons for that amount of hate.... The army can be good but without a tactic brain behind the army.... Is just a paper horde

That's kind of their whole point? They're fast and deal alot of damage, at the cost of being a delicate Guardsmen equivalent. In a game about movement and eliminating threats, it's pretty clear why Eldar are always good every edition.
