Counter Attack Board Game - One Year Later

I love the long term reviews. I don’t have this and am considering it. The game length is a challenge if I want to play a season. How did the 30 turn game turn out?

I'll be honest mate I never got chance to try it out as was playing other things, still is a great game though, me not having a gaming group anymore really prevents play though, I just have other games that I can get on the kitchen table easier

I suggested a lot of time ago they should create a fixed turns rule. 45 minutes of real time is fiddly. When playing against a newcomer, games can get lots of stall and yeah, we've got a sandclock but I'm not a fan of that. The game is about "what happens between movements". You return to the movement phase to simulate everyone moving every now and then after doing other actions, so my idea would be just count each movement phase and assign X movement phases each half.

Yeah im not a fan of the sand clock either, fixed turns could definitely do with being tested, I just haven't got the time to devote to it at the moment. The playtime and set up is what put my son off, you get his attention for half hour max these days, so this is way too long for him with the draft process on top of playtime. Might just be something that's never addressed though as the game does really well online.

I mostly played this solo, I found movement a bit too fiddly and time consuming, but I guess against some one else, wouldn't be so bad. If you are after a great solo footy game, try soccer blast, from Plaay games,plays in about 40 mins and simulates everything that can happen in a match👍😁

Cheers for the suggestion but I'm done for footy games now, I actually enjoy the movement in this, especially compared to Subbuteo for instance, but I could get 4 games of Subbuteo done for the time it takes to play this once, and that's why it doesn't hit the table all that much, especially when I mainly play stuff that I can film and put on the channel.
