So I did some investigation and found some more, all from Soul Blade: - Opening theme/World 2 is "Asian Dawn" (Theme of Asia) - World 4 is "The Winds and Cloud" (Theme of Mitsurigi) Let's see if we can figure out World 3!

Well my curiosity about this port has been finally satisfied. It a shame some of the cool tracks from the Sega version did not make it over but overall the game is still bad. The "metal monsters" and "skeleton in a box" are both from Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures. The "metal monsters" are the bear traps from the first level in Nepal and the skeletons are from the first level and they shoot out at you the same way.

I also have a rom with a new added character I made. It's not common for SNES MK to have romhacks like that.

Very interesting. I knew there was a Sega Genesis pirate of the game. I have also done the various original Nintendo pirates of the 2D Mortal Kombat games. I think it would've been awesome if both Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero & Mortal Kombat 4 would've gotten scaled down Super Nintendo ports. Remember, when the 2 games released, Super Nintendo consoles (now on 2nd smaller model instead of the original model) & games were still being produced. I figured Mortal Kombat 4 would've gotten the Killer Instinct 1 treatment (meaning that the 3D game is converted to 2D graphics to work on Super Nintendo).

Hey, have you ever heard about the game Squirrel King. It's an unlicensed port of Chip n Dale on sega. Despite being really weird, it's actually quite a good platformer, and it's really popular on the Internet, I like it personaly. So can you imagine my shock when I found out, that there was a version for the SNES, but it may be even rarer than MK 2000... :(

CLE ALM I don't think the SNES version is made by the same people who made the genesis version. I think the SNES is a bootleg of the Genesis bootleg. I think the Genesis comes from Chinese bootleggers, Russians picked up the game and made a "Русская Версия" edition translated in Russian. And the SNES version is a Brazilian exclusive, that's why its so common there but rare across the rest of the world. That's my theory of this game. But the SNES version plays better, the Gen version fighting is really bad. Plus I like the intro.

I don't know if this game was created here in Brazil, I believe that has been done in some other country in South America, because others people in South America easily found this game. I know that this cartridge was developed by DVS Electronics, but I don't know the country of origin this company.

CLE ALM oh that's easy, DVS is from Paraguay. bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/DVS_Electronic_Co They are the same company that made the SNES Tekken 2, The King of Fighters 2000, X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, for the SNES. I think the Sub-Zero Mythologies game is still being made by DVS or another company. Because before the rom, the game was starting to be sold with MK9 or newer MK artwork. The original cart has UMK3 art with the words 2000.

Some people on SNESFreaks discussed the process of dumping the game, and were unable to get very far using the Retrode 2. Justin Deering I ask because I heard this game is copy protected but the same issue happened with the Lobo rom for the SNES and someone broke the code. I want to contact the same person who bypassed the Lobo rom , see if they are down to help, then possibly try something with this game. This is one of the bootlegs I've been wanting to play for a while now.

I didn't realize this when I first got into the pirate scene, but in a lot of developing countries, people couldn't afford the latest consoles (or sometimes the big companies weren't even in those markets at all) so these pirate games were often the only way that people could even come close to experiencing MK. Were they as good as the official games? Not by a longshot. But as a collector, they are a curiosity. And they sometimes have interesting features (like that Liu Kang/Sub-Zero cutscene) that must have taken a great deal of effort to implement. I'm glad there is a ROM of it now so people can check it out if they want, without spending a ton of money on it.

the last cart I saw on sale in Ebay. Some idiot brazilian is selling it for 1000$ lol. I saw this post by Phelan, I went as far to message him for info on this cart. The intro is what made me want this game and rom. Looks like it controls better than the Sega port. I actually want a rom of this game. It looks slightly better than the sega version. I feel like contacting @The Ninja-X³ for some advice. I've heard this game is copy protected. He had the same issue with Lobo for the SNES. Some how him and some other person, bypassed the copy protection and leaked the rom.
