As someone who’s been using Xane since his release his refine is amazing! I use him with a max Life and Death Raven and Brave Alphonse with Lyn ring and the difference is night and day, he made dealing with New Year Níðhöggr so much easier!

Joker's Wild refine range is not as huge as I expect but it's very nice. That Close Counter and those blue buffs messed me up real good though since I gave him CC and Def Tactics hahahahah Tome of Storms is within expectations like her summer version Fimbulvtr Morn? Support her with Citrinne, problem solved.. now everyone gets those Essence Drain and Bonus Doubler hahahaha Kinda felt bad I made her Fortress Def/Res 2 fodder Indignant Bow's support is very good

With Ronan, the disabling of adaptive damage helps a lot against dragons of course. Also the special thing being on the weapon means he can just use another special like glacies for laguz friend i think. Fae doubling down on becoming a raid boss once more. Xane and Sonia are also interesting. Lex is meh, but atleast they did not skip him. Selena is known for bolting, and i think the weapon even has some sort of bolting animation. So her being good for the Lyn ring makes sense

Because the Sabotage status and Spd/Res debuffs from Micaiah’s B skill don’t care if you’re immune to debuffs, because your teammates aren’t immune. It uses your debuffs AND your teammate’s debuffs. And before you say ‘use negate debuff status effect’ that won’t work because it only negates during combat with that specific unit. So Niðhöggr is immune, but her teammates existing screws her over.

Xane got base of +16 to all stats, I think he could be very strong pairing with heroes with “great talent” like brave Alfonse and emblem Lynn. Not only he can tank but “hexblade” gives him a decent counter attack.

L!Fae is the first true hard counter to E!Ike, where he has absolutely no possibility of winning. Any unit who attacks only once cannot possibly kill Fae due to her special. She also has scowl, which already counters the type of unit that uses a special to one shot you. She won't ever be able to kill him without hardy bearing though.

Lex would've been okay if it weren't for that stupid "ally in 2 space" restriction in the enemy phase. It makes it even harder to try to Vantage, especially since he has has that 7 after combat healing that they keep adding unnecessarily. He makes decent use out of Reopening though, but I'm gonna hold that fodder for the potential refine Ninja Laevatein gets. Xane is pretty good. Range increase for his stat copying is great, but it's really odd that he doesn't give himself Null Panic or Hexblade. Not a bad bait unit, but a bit awkward still with the space you need to have for him, and also has scowl to boot. Not bad with Lyn ring, and Frozen, and you might be able to easily make him the savior target from Tree man, but I'm not sure how that exactly works with his stat copying. Also Null C is still one of the best skills for him. I really want Ronan now. Him getting 150% Res based damage on specials is a really cool niche for him, and his support is also extremely good too. He can run it with low cd specials unlike Timerra who needs to run her 3(4) cd special to get the effect, and the pulsing on his first attack helps too. He wants to either run Glacies, or a low cd special like Curved Shot/Moonbow/Glimmer. He's definitely not able to enemy phase since that Def is abysmal, but his nuking power is pretty solid. Unlike Seteth, he's a functionally good unit beyond his support and the refine kinda makes some of these recent modern weapons look kinda garbo. I thought he would've gotten the worst one. I'm summoning for blues on arena tickets now hoping to get him. Sonia honestly is a bit bettersweet since Niddhoggr is such a monster rn, but she got pretty much everything she needed for a grail unit. She's not as great combat wise, but I honestly had 0 expectations for her. Mainly just an Essence Drain/Bonus Doubler bot if you haven't managed to get Nergal somehow, and it's unreal that we got that on a F2P unit. Micaiah is just not enough. She needed way more. Literally why would you use her outside of her arena season? On top of that, she got TP4 as her remix skill... She's worse than Bride Micaiah since Bride has an open B slot, where as L!Micaiah is forced to run her prf skill to get her debuff support. Fae is a decent bait unit with her special, and is doing a lot all at once. The DR reflection in her special is really nice on top of that, but I still feel like it's not gonna be enough since enemy phasing is so difficult for non armors. The lifespan of enemy phase dragons is always fairly short, but maybe her special will keep her a little longer like L!Corrin's did. Her remix skill is also much better than what Micaiah got, especially because it's much more rare and it gives her a lot of effects that her refines leaves out. Laguz Friend might be better in some ways, but it's a good sidegrade. Selena should've just been put down like a lame horse. Really really poor refine, and Exposure of all penalties to give her is so lame, since a lot of people run Ploys already. Especially when her summer alt had Flash status. Feud would've been a great status to give her, since she wants to snipe vulnerable targets, but Exposure??? It also doesn't work on enemy phase either like most modern debuffs do. Her combat is still garbage, her spd is nowhere near up to par to consistently avoid counters, she doesn't have good support, and she didn't even get a potent effect like I thought she might've. This is a refine from over a year ago.

But I get admit she got a really nice refine just got watch out for Nidhoggr but really hoping Limstella get a similar thing as they're also a nergal creation so Sonia having essence drain makes sense tbh. Tho hopefully Limstella is even better!! And I feel like honestly legendary Chimcken got such a great refine too with scowl and flat dr it's really great with her remixed special she can easily deal with emblem Lyn with hardy bearing golden chicken is really cooking!! 🐣🔥 Although legendary Micaich refine ain't that great sadly compared to Fae she's genuinely still really good people are underestimating her she deals with many heavy tanks with shield fighter while testing her so she's genuinely pretty good I feel like still. Obvious winner is Ronan. Sonia's partner support essence drain is not as good as it would have been just a few months ago. Nidhoggr is everywhere, and her having a seasonal alt that can be blessed for all seasons is gonna keep the Morph mommy on the bench.

I don't necessarily agree that Nidhoggr is truly everywhere, because of one reason: Arena. When you're playing in the Tier 20-21 range as much as you can, you want all of your team to be +10, with some leeway if you have a bonus Legendary. And the fact is that people who have Nidhoggr at +10 is rare, unless they are a whale or already stocked up tons of orbs before the November Mythic banner. Sure, she's a bit more constant when you have a lower score and thus can face units with fewer merges, but I personally have only encountered Mythic Nidhoggr twice so far since November. And the New Year alt isn't going to be too much different. Plus, Nidhoggr is locked from showing up on stuff like Tempest Trials due to being a limited run unit, so it's not like she's going to cause trouble for Sonia in that category either.

Putting my bias aside, while it is a good refine for Sonia, the problem is Nidhoggr exist. As we saw with Nergal, Nidhoggr just completely shut that down. Literally if she didn't exist then this would be on the same level as Seteth's refine. Eh, at least she wasn't shafted like Petrine was, I'm still hurting from that. Also Feh has a weird obsession with random characters, especially if they're female. Like why's Leila getting so much attention when she literally dies the chapter you meet her, same with Lumera. Karla you met for one chapter and she has a bunch of alts. So I can't tell you why IS seems to love Ursula so much outside of the two reasons on her chest.

And to that, I counter that Nidhoggr is only truly extant in AR and SD. She's much more rare in Arena, where merges matter more (hell, I've only encountered Mythic Nidhoggr _twice_ at the most in Arena, counting from her November debut), and is locked from showing up on a majority of PVE content like Tempest Trials, so she's not causing trouble for Sonia or Nergal in that category either.

@DavidHutchinson0713 Just because she's a bit rarer to come across in Arena doesn't mean you're not going to run into her. As a matter of fact, I've come across her a few times in Arena, which I surrendered because I wasn't going to deal with her. The same goes for other modes like Voting Gauntlet, which again I've come across her a few times. I'm not saying this refine is bad. Not at all it's really good, but I'm not going to ignore the fact that if you come across a Nidhoggr at all, then the entire refine is in the dumpster. Let's also not forget there's New Years Nidhoggr who's not a Mythic unit like normal Nidhoggr but has the exact same counters to Essence Drain. She's also not an easy unit to take out, neither version is really. Maybe I'm overreacting and seeing more of a problem than there is, but the sheer existence of Nidhoggr kinda knocks some points off this the refine, in my opinion.
