I'm still looking for a video on how the horn is attached and how it's able to withstand the amount of abuse they get from roping heavy cattle, mules, etc etc. And the part of the saddle that it's attached to appears to be made out of fiberglass or something similar. I became much more interested in the construction of a saddle after I saw a cowboy rope a mule and wrap the rope around the horn for friction and then see it smoke like it's on fire. I've never seen that before until about 15 minutes ago. I was in awe! 😳

I burned down through all the leather once but fortunately not the rawhide. The only way I knew was my horn cap start twisting. I have used a leather wrap under the rubber since. I always appreciate your practical tips!

What would you do with this saddle? Repair? Junk it?
