Very nice result considering the amount of defects. I do wonder about the inner pages as the bottom front and back cover seemed to have the worst creases. Still, it came out quite nice regardless of the spine ticks that break color. I enjoy your channel and all the shared knowledge. I do dry clean my Silver age books but there's a heat press in my very near future, as I've got to up my game. I've got plenty of books to hone my skill and an ASM 16 that needs work. Suppose you had a book with a single spine tick (9.8 candidate otherwise, grumpy graders notwithstanding). Would you ever employ this technique but NOT press as well?

Often the head causes minor cover rippling - so typically need a press after

Great job :), If this was an older book and you use a humidity tank you wouldn't need the cotton round correct? since the book would be hydrated already.

I always use a humidity tank before a press. I would not use a humidity tank before and iron then press. The reason is that the humidity comes out when you iron it and you need it in there for the press.

You mention it helps to loosen the paper fibers before pressing. How soon after doing this do you need to press to take advantage of that?

I like to do it same day but have done up to a few days. No need to do it immediately.
