Thanks Steve. The new Barra burners look unreal, can't wait for them to get available. I'll use them on big Flathead 👍

Flathead lollies.

Cheers for all the great info this year. Wouldn't be too worried about the TPE getting sticky, barra will still smash them.

Might help, After and outing all lures (Hard and soft) get put into the sink (Fresh water) agitated to remove salt, placed on a cloth and allowed to dry, when dry return to a factory plastic container (separated into brands) without the molded insert and into a cupboard until the next use. Been doing it for several months without any sticky lures. I'm shore based so my lures are protected from the sun though they do get hot in the car. As space is limited in my tackle bag all lures go into a hinged box (Hard and soft all mixed together) they stay in there sometimes for days until I get around to washing and drying them, haven't had many go sticky, some go hard (Pro Lure, Lunker) for the most part I've had very few go bad. My guess is the UV is the most damaging. That boat looks awesome

Proper cod. Gotta feel for em. They get such a bad rap cause you always want to see that flash of red. I rate em personally. Great vid. Burners for the win!!! My go to Barra and Jack lures.

For storage it’s always back in the packets where possible to retain the shape. Never had to clean with soap or isopropyl but I do keep everything covered up when out in the water or when stored at home.

Bought a few of those irukandji mega prawns and found they get sticky and melt faster than any other tpe plastics I've used. Never scented them, or stored them in anything other than their container. Really disappointing considering my zereks, zmans, Chasebaits etc. have lasted me many months.

The only ways I’ve found is to keep my fish towel on top of them while on the deck. If I’m not using them, they are in their original packs in a systema air tight container. Not fool proof but does the trick. On a hot day, I usually keep the towel wet.

Wiping TPE plastics down with isopropyl alcohol helps stop the stickiness👍

I dont know what it is steve but you can put as many plastics in my tackle box as you can and they seem to last a long time...

Often get asked what colour cicada is best. Answer, any colour as long as it's black

Solid advice.

I’m no expert but it’s the oils contained in the plastic that work their way to the top when exposed to heat and uv. Give them a spray with some alcohol and a wipe down should get the sticky off them.

Even if the plastics get sticky. They still catch fish. Yeh it’s a bit of a pain paying top dollar for lures and they go sticky but just about every brand plastic does it. Iv had pretty much every brand do it. The only ones that don’t go sticky are the plastics that rip apart after 1 fish. It just is what it is I suppose.. But sticky or not they still catch fish!

I'm disappointed that they deteriorate for the price you pay

Hi Steve, can you send me more info about your punt set up please. I have been looking at the Seajay 4.1 metre punt??? thoughts and is there something else i should be looking at?
@SteveMorganFishingMonthlyАй бұрын
I’ll do a run-through once it’s finished off. After fishing in it a few times I have some mods. It’s a 4.5m Alloycraft punt.
