Tackle Talk - Water Loaded Floats

A subscriber of the channel recently sent me some water loaded floats to try out, I've yet to use them but in this tackle talk I take you over the features and benefits of these interesting products.
I'm told that they are good floats for mugging, shallow fishing for carp and ide and have even been used with great success on some rivers. If you'd like to check out these shallow fishing floats for yourself, I've included some links to the seller on eBay below:

ooow i want that onion float loved using them for big roach on my old stomping ground in bolton especialy on a wide canal like you have (stainie) that water wagg looks interesting for cathing chub + nice rudd :)

Make your own.They are made from plastic pipettes available from the usual sources.The adjustable ones are just the bulb cut in half and pushed over the float so you can make them as long and in any colour you need.I don't like putting guys out of business,but I like to save as much as possible whenever I can in an already profit based sport.

I understand they're easy enough to make, but I'm already very busy with everything else I do prep wise as well as making videos for KZbin and life in general. It's horses for courses - some people buy pretied hooklengths and rigs, I prefer to tie my own but fair play to you for not only saving a few quid, sometimes it's just nice to tinker👍

All floats look great more so with the new Pollywags used to use them my self with good success thanks to uncle Norm but that tweeking of the tip with them is brill idea. 🎣

They are made from pipettes, you can buy a bag from ebay pretty cheap and make your own. Just do a quick search and the big ones are 5ml, smaller 3ml.

Yep you could if you have the time and inclination. Not sure about the caps on the 4g pellet wagglers though.

going to make sum myself ,how would the swivels be attatched in the bottom and how would you no how much water to put in cheers

@@MegaAndy180 I attach the swivels by cutting the tube to approx size and use hot glue.Each 1 gramm of water is about 1ml,so load it up using another pipette to the required weight.Been making these for years,plus if you lose one up a tree no big deal,not like losing a fivers worth of bought commercial float.

The ones on Ebay are made from 5ml pipettes. They are too big and too heavy. Best size imo, is 3ml pipettes. Good casting distance with the least amount of disturbance. Forget em if there is any wind.

Be careful attaching a water float with a rubber or adapter. They are heavy and can detach.

A snap link swivel is all I use lol, lost quite a few floats with adaptors.

Yes snap link probably best on these as they already have a swivel set in the base.

@@HOOKEDFishingChannel Years ago I used to fill the old celluloid floats with water as an experiment.. after one got a hole in it and partly filled with water. Used for fishing floaters as a casting aid. The downside was casting, it caused an imbalance and made fishing clumsy. I can see a use for them pole fishing. What some don't realise is that the resistance a fish feels from a float is dictated by the buoyancy of the float that is ABOVE the water, below water is all neutral. Will be interesting to see what you make of them.

There so easy to make make them yourself don't pay these ripp off prices on ebay,Dellboy
