Thanks for another great video James. What is the maximum difference you would have between your line and hooklength diameter? When fishing fine I have been using 2.5lb Maxima, with a stated diameter of 0.14mm, but is probably closer to 0.16mm in reality. I match this to hooklengths of 0.08 tp 0.10, usually 0.09. Would a mainline of 0.14 or lower really make a big difference to my fishing?

Hi! My guide would be 0.07-0.08 hooklength on 0.12mm reel line. 0.09-0.12 on 0.14 or 0.16mm reel line. It’s good to balance the reel line to the hooklength as best as possible. Lower diameter reel lines also better for casting lighter floats. Cheers James
