I absolutely love Cassandra from @houseofaquarius ' style. She's been remodeling and restoring her 110 year old house in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am so excited to help her transform her yard into a sustainable, whimsical landscape that matches her amazing vision! Be sure to follow Cassandra's home transformation here: / hausofaquarius

I'm Daryl. I really hate mowing the lawn.
That’s how all of this began: a search for landscaping alternatives that don't require sacrificing every Saturday morning to the mower.
As a certified permaculture designer, I help transform boring, basic lawns into beautiful yards that take care of us the way we take care of them.

I’m impressed by how open she is to changing her dream design because it’s not practical. I have a really hard time letting go of a design idea once I got it into my head.

I love your solution to those small boulders on the corner. Don't remove them, add more and larger boulders. Solving multiple problems. You are a creative problem solver.

The stained glass on her basement windows is unexpected and beautiful! I love the woodland plans for the side yard near the veggie patch. Excited to see the next phases.

Seriously, check out her TikTok! She's been doing amazing work on the inside, it's so cool to see what she's done! There's a link in the description.

I like ur practical approach. Sometimes, even rarely, pesticide is the answer. But as u mentioned, cutting and the applying a strong solution of round up to Stump Killer will do great and it is very targeted. Also ur short where u say it’s OK to have a small yard if it serves a proactively purpose like for the kids. As we reduce our yard we leave what I all ‘interludes’ which serve a design purpose.

she should have consulted with you before placing those garden beds and "impulse buy" aspens. A few minutes of planning can save days of work

About the idea of a few large Perhaps a conversation about native trees that tend to have more of a tap type root versus surface roots to avoid future road and sidewalk damage.
