The creative journey definitely has ups and downs! I've been through a lot of this since I started writing, but I'm super lucky to have reached a very positive place. I'm proud of the draft I'm working on, looking forward to my daily writing sessions, and feeling confident in my writing abilities. All that to say that it certainly goes in waves! My current limiting belief is that I won't have any chance of getting an agent when I start querying in the upcoming months. Hearing everyone on Twitter say that it's impossible has made me feel like I will have the same outcome. Maybe I will! But I'm trying to remind myself that I have 0 context around those tweets (genre, if the MS is actually ready for querying, etc) and so many people believe in my writing. I should believe in it too. PS. I watch all of your videos and look forward to them! You add lots of value to the YT space :)

Many of my limiting beliefs are almost exactly the same as the ones you read out. It has taken me years to abandon them. I did so using a journal. The biggest hurdle I have had to accept is that not having a fixed salary does not mean poverty. I also had to accept that I need to let go of money (i.e, invest) in order to build my income, rather than hoarding it all for a rainy day. Also, LOADS of people have published or are publishing novels and making a living from this and other combined endeavours. I had that realisation while in the library several months ago. So I am glad to see you confirm that people do, in fact, wish to read your work. Panoramic views are great!

Hi Sara, I just wanted to let you know that you’re my favorite creator on KZbin. I save your videos for last whenever I go through my subscriptions tab because yours is the one I want to watch most. You inspire me so much and I’ve saved so many of your videos (including this one) to a motivation playlist to rewatch when I need inspiration. It hurts my heart so much to hear that you have the limiting belief that people don’t care about your journey or your content because I care so deeply about it and it adds so much value to my life. I also love that you’re branching out and incorporating hiking and nature vlogging into your writing content and hope to see more of it in the future. Your adventure vlogs are my favorites to watch. I hope you have a lovely day and thanks for everything you bless the world with

The veiws look so empowering. It's always inspiring to get out in nature. I have a forest 5 mins from mine, there's a secret garden in the center, where I write for an hour a day. I'm ow rewatch all of Brandon Sanderson's lectures between writing sprints. I'm now 15,000 and 4 chapters into my novel, which is a heist / high fantasy project of mine, I call it project EE. I have just booked a week of work so I can write like Brandon Sanderson for a week. Get up at noon and 2 writing sprints for 4 hour a day. I'm so excited for it! Getting a lot of inspiration from your channel lately, love the content!

I haven't made it all the way through yet (and yes, I'm very late because I'm binge watching), but I just wanted to say that you ABSOLUTELY deserve to have the following that you do and to grow to even bigger numbers than even you think possible because you are amazing and just a joy to watch. I love getting to see your journey and you are one of the people I watch when I need to feel motivated. I may come back with more when I finish up the video, but I just wanted to say that here at the 7:57 mark because I didn't want to forget to let you know how much you and your content matter! ❤❤

Wow, Sara, this video is so important. When I turned it on, I was just curious about the topic in general, but I was also like "psh, I don't have any limiting beliefs, I'm happy with where I am". But then you read your list and I was like "Oh... oh." Your videos (and especially the motivational content!) are always so inspiring, but also a reality check (in a good way) at the same time. From the bottom of my heart - thank you!

Thank you SO much for sharing this and being vulnerable! I really needed to hear it for myself because I have wanted to start some for of content creation or blog or anything where I can share myself or creative side but have had so many limiting beliefs. I am still a barista and been one for half my life and want to do something that could grow into maybe a full time job like we all see other creators have but everything you read is what is in my heart holding me back in fear. And then the narrative you read as well was so beautiful and uplifting that it gave me hope. I know I haven’t started but I just need to give it a try. And I technically already have in a way. I did a course for Amazon KDP to try publishing books and I did one and while I didn’t make one for creative writing it was for financial advice for millennials I made a few bucks here and there. Both to boast about. But anytime I got an email saying I got a deposit I was like 😮 woah! I can actually make money online and people will listen to me. So thank you! I need to do this exercise myself. And I know my comments are always long, but please know if you think your content doesn’t matter it does. Even if it’s just for you to release energy it helped you. But even if you reached and helped another person that is a HUGE HELP to the world! And now I can keep this with me and share with anyone I know struggling. ❤

Hi Sara, great video and thanks so much for spreading your astounding wisdom! This has really motivated me to start putting in more effort into getting my website off the ground and garnering internet traffic. I am certain it will grow and help begin generating passive income spreading my ambition for mathematics. Even though I have had a few doubts fostered in my head about it, I realized I was not putting in enough work everyday to publishing articles and submitting content. Now that I have the self awareness to fully recognize which beliefs are hindering process, I intent to eradicate them and replace them with more realistic and beneficial ones that will begin producing the results that I am looking for.

I enjoyed this video and related to a lot of your limiting beliefs. My limiting belief: I will fail as a writer/author because I'm not as hardworking as others or disciplined or focused. Rewritten positive belief: I am a dedicated and hardworking person and already doing work as a writer and author; all I need to do is keep going and trying. I don't have to compare myself to others because they are not on my journey.

I relate to so many of these limiting beliefs. Right now I am a senior in college, a got this spring semester left to go and a game design internship in the summer, but recently I have been looking more into freelance writing and editing. Game design was my backup job, being an author is my dream, but my dream has taken the backseat. Recently I've been thinking this a lot- I'm wasting my time. Instead I should be thinking- I am taking the time to learn valuable skills in a growing market that could one day contribute to my dream. I also felt the "multi-passionate" limitation the most. I have so much I want to do, but I feel like my attention is divided and that I need to pick.

I didn't know there was a name for these thoughts! I've always been frustrated about those, especially if I hear it from a loved one. My sister wanted to pursue a career in marine biology, but in high school she took a science class and decided "I can't do science." I was thinking, "well yeah, now that you believe that, you can't!!" It's like switching off any possibility of growth in that area. Thanks to this video I'm going to do research on limiting beliefs and reevaluate my own thinking!

Very inspiring! The limiting belief I have involves being multi-passionate. I keep reverting to the thinking that I need to have monomaniacal focus to find true fulfillment. I think that it is partly due to how difficult it is to execute focus shifts across varied interests. Thanks again for an inspiring vlog! Oh and I love the nature background! 🙂

Let me adjust a few of your misbeliefs and say thus: 1) You are worthy of the people following you. A) because you as a person is very interesting. B) because your suckles are similar, though not always the same, as other creators. C) I get a lot from your take on the different authors and your take on your own life. 2) You manage to always keep yourself relevant. Both as person and as an author. 3) You are an attractive young lady - for that alone many could be following you - but mostly you are honest. Honest people attract kean listeners and true following, and I bet it's the most of the people who following you of this very reason. Honest people do not grow on the trees though they are much easier and nicer people. 😉😉😉

Thank you for sharing this video. I have tried to sit down and work through my limiting beliefs many times and then I shut down so quickly because I start beating myself up for these beliefs, or my ego/pride/control freak self goes into denial saying “I’m fine, I can do anything, I don’t have any limiting beliefs!” Which isn’t true… I just don’t like admitting that I am the only thing holding me back. Don't focus on money. If you really only wanted to focus on money you'd rent a room for a couple hundred a month, invest all of your extra funds into bitcoin (until it gets back around mid 20's), sell it in 2 years (or sooner if it hits 100K before the end of 2024), live off of some of it, but save some $$ to buy it again during the next dip and repeat the process. You always seamed to me as someone who focused on being free. When you want to hang with friends, you do that. When you want to write, you do that. You have a remote job that gives you a ton of freedom. When you want to take a vacation you do that. When you want to see family you do that. From the outside looking in, you've created exactly the life you want (and can expect to live) at this point in time of your life. If you concentrated 100% on youtube, could you become a daily vlogger and have some more subs? Sure. If you spent every non-working, non-sleeping hour on writing would you be published? Sure. Could you live off of fiverr if you kept adding clients, reviews and you put it above everything else? Sure. Keep in mind this is with dropping everything else in your life to make it your one and only focus. But would you be as happy with one of these as you would be with the freedom to choose the path depending on how you feel that day? The best life advice I ever heard revolved around the F's: Family, Finances, Fitness (includes sleep), Friends, Fun, and Future. You can do one with your maximum ability. If you choose to two, you can juggle 2 great. If you add a third you'll do each one good, but none great. You'll be terrible at 4 one of them if you add a 4th. How many would you choose to do daily and which ones would you choose? After you answer that question honestly and truthfully, then you need to set up a DAILY schedule that is robotic and mindless. Whatever your number 1 priority is, that's what you do to start the day every day. Then, whenever you're done, you do number 2. Then (if you say have 3 for instance), you finish the day with whatever time you have for #3. So, where I heard that from he had fitness, finances and family (in that order). Dude would work out for the first 3-4 hours a day and fall asleep by 8pm (so he could wake up at 4a). Then he'd work for 10 hours to keep his finances right. Then he'd see his kids and wife for maybe 30 minutes to an hour. I'm in the process of rearranging my life, because it got out of balance, and all because I didn't prioritize it like this (most important first to least important and I can't be everything to everyone). I'm going to do fitness to start the day, fitness to end the day, and finances in the middle. Dropping friends, fun, family and future isn't great, but you can't be great at all 6; there's just not enough hours. But just because you drop some things now, doesn't mean you can't recover them later. Way too long but hope that helps.

If you struggle with the flipping the statements, just neutralise it at first. "I'm not able to make an income doing my creative projects.... yet, but am only getting better with experience"
