Tried the aldi 99p onion marinated tofu with our Greekish style tea tonight. Opened it up, wiped a bit of marinade off, seasoned w garlic powder, dusted in cornflour and fine semolina. Then I poured a bit of the oil that dripped off the plant menu kofta out the air fryer and griddled em. It was v good 👍🏼

The versatility of tofu is amazing, how could anyone say they don't like it, if someone says they don't like it they just need to try it a different way, there's literally hundreds of uses for tofu and thank you guys for showing us some great ideas for tofu, gonna try the fryed egg buttie, eggs is one thing I miss since going vegan.

We have one of those Tofu Future presses, we call it Tofu Torture though! A cracking bit of kit, though not the cheapest option it is very well made and super easy to clean. We tend to put our tofu in the torture device in the morning and pop it in the fridge ready for whatever we plan to do with it later that day/evening. Ooo we love some right nice pressed tofu, Barbara!

Yummy for my tummy. Awhile back I tried the cornstarch on the baked tofu. Something went awry. My husband said it was good, but it was too coated for my taste. Need to try again. We have some good Asian markets and very good tofu (mom and pop) shops here in Orange County, California. Thanks for sharing. I’m always learning from “you Vegan guys”. Now I’m back to Ancient Aliens.

Tip - tofu that's gone off smells like fish. I've only ever had this once in 20 years. Bought one in Lidl someone must have put back later. Had to bin it. Really intense raw fish stench once open.

Need to give the fried egg style tofu a go - never tried it that way. I used to make egg on beans on cheese on toast back in my veggie days. I like to put a splash of vinegar from a jar of gherkins in scrambled tofu for a little tang and brunchy dillness 😊

You either love tofu or don’t know how to cook it properly! Once you get the hang of it, it’s just an amazing ingredient. I love it raw (hardcore) 😂❤🌱

I tend to keep it simple so, for the baked tofu, I'll probably just add oil and the wickd nooch flavouring. Very interesting about aqua faba though. Tend to throw this away when I've drained my chickpeas so it'd be good to find a use for it.

A thick slice of plain, microwaved (just 90 seconds) silken tofu in a roll with margarine, salt and pepper tastes like I remember boiled egg...

Shame there's no wing yip or anything like it near me, had a quick look in a small Chinese store in Liverpool but didn't know what half the stuff was as I don't speak Chinese lol. Going to go back and have a proper longer look round.

Thank you for the simplified explanations on how to use tofu. Still getting familiar with using more tofu in my diet. I have used silken tofu for some time now in smoothies and desserts. Easy way to get my protein along with satisfying my sweet-tooth.

Yes, the silken tofu in boxes that is shelf stable, ever the 'firm' might well just squish in a press. Great for softer scramble though
