I live in Kentucky, go to Red River Gorge, stop at the shell and get a parking pass for $3 a night! Tons of trails! Hit Indian Staircase or the Natural Bridge! Just pull off anywhere in the gorge and park. You’ll also go through the nada tunnel. It’s pretty neat! Enjoy!

Thanks for the memories. My wife's family used to own land near the New River bridge. Such a beautiful area, I don't go there anymore, since the property was sold.

My grandmother and her family grew up on that mountain in bear town. Her family would build a cabin then when they grew out of it they would move down the mountain and build again. This was long before there was a bridge to walk. Pretty awesome you are there

Red River Gorge in Stanton, KY is the home of Ale 8 One soda. Also, it's a legendary climbing area with a number of sweet hikes and a natural bridge. If you stop there, grab pizza at Miguel's Pizza if they're open. I've been about 5 times as a Kentuckiana resident. Doesn't disappoint.

You should have went 10 min own the road to hawks nest. It’s got lots of trails and camping. Hugh rocks down beside the Gauley river. That’s where the new dumps into it. Big set of water falls in a place called Kanawha falls

Talon, saw the scene driving in the rain and I can’t recommend the Orange Rain-X windshield wash enough. It takes some getting used to because it does leave a film on the windshield (obviously) but after that, rain just runs off. Everyone I’ve told about it swears by it, hopefully it helps!
