Steven, thank you for taking the time to create and publish this video. Your video allowed me to know what to anticipate and expect when considering the exact same scenario for my heating system. I was a little concerned about prying the bellows out of the Taco housing but after watching your process in the video, I got right on it with a little extra “umph” and bam everything popped out just like in your video. The process of replacing the internals of the Taco valve was a lot easier than soldering a new one in place. Thanks again.

Hey Steve I bought a new water heater tune up kit n pilot won't stay on. I even bought a new thermostat n still nothing. What can be the problem?

Thanks for the video. I've got one of these leaking as well. Tried to pull the valve seat assembly and just the stem came out. Can't figure out how to get the rest out. Please tell me I dont have to replace the whole valve. Lol. Very tight spot and would probably need to redo a section of pipe for it.

Steve would it be easier on original install to put a ball vavle in before and after each zone valve so you don't have to bleed each zone? I like to do it on anything that needs to be replaced, circulators, zones vavles, pumps, ect. I like how you did this to show tech you can change the bellows in a situation if needed. Purge staion is good to have. Great video thank you Steve. HVAC ON!!!!

I have the same Valves and there calling for too much heat. Thermostat changes and still too much heat. Thinking a valve stuck open?

Hello .I have questions: today replaced taco valve head . The problem before I didn’t have the 24v coming to my thermostat after installation the new head I finally got the 24v and my nest t stat started charging but the valve looks like stays open and temperature on the t star is 78 F over set point 70 F and I think I need to replace the base valve now so the question is do I need to drain the water in the boiler room or can I just shut the service valve before the taco valve in my apartment and drain the radiators then replaced the valve?

@@kdmq Where I am from if you are hired to do a job and replace a valve thats what you do, you don't do half of it and half ass your work to save time. I would have let him finish then make him redo it minus labor for the time it took to do it right or charge me only half the price of the valve since he only replaced half of it

Very interesting....My zone valves are up so high, I can never really look at that valve body while replacing the electrical units. But, have always wondered what would happen if it sprung a leak or the valve jammed closed/open....Nice to know the guts can be replaced without trying to break/resolder those joints...Is the retainer (square part that the screws go through) plastic or metal...Mine seem like they are plastic, hope not...Doesn't seem like the plastic could hold that spring loaded valve in place very well... Wish my system had the drains like that. I'll swear that most of my low heat output issues are probably due to air in the pipes even though it has been bled out a few times...
