You have an awsome red truck, me myself i wouldn't trade it in for a 2020, but again thats my opinon, if you decide to trade, purhcase the 4X4 you may need assistance someday, 4X4 will come in handy, good luck again beautiful truck bro.

I bought and installed this skid plate based upon your initial video. So far I am pleased with its durability and access points. I contemplated painting mine like you did but I worried about potential for chips and peeling. Thank you for another great video and for all the great advice. You are the original Tacoma Man. One day when you decide to move to Hawaii, I would like to meet you in person and ride in your new 4WD truck. 🤙🏽 We can go wheeling and shore fishing on the North Shore. Pulehu tako (fire roasted octopus) makes great pupu (appetizer) after a long day.

Maybe you could paint those letters for your 2020? I don't know if that's paint on there now or if that's the materials solid color, so may not adhere well.

They are a something like a vinyl gel. You can take them off and replace them pretty easily. 👍

Hello there Rob, first I wanted to thank you for all the time and effort you put into your great vids! I’ve learned a lot by watching. I was curious about your TRD Skid Plate mod (painting). Do the TRD letters literally pop out? I’d like to pick up the skid plate and mod the letters to be black (instead of the default red). I’m trying to determine if I should a.)paint the letters, b.)plasti dip them or c.) see if there are any actual replacment letters I could get that come in black…? Any thoughts/suggestsions? I think the red letters will be fine. When I shopped for my truck in 2018 I first looked at the Voodoo Blue TRD Pro. It has TRD Pro door badges that are mountted up near the mirrors. The TRD is black and the PRO is red. The red really pops on the blue. Look up a pic of it.

It’s funny but true. I did more four wheeling when I had my used 2003 Nissan Xterra V6 4WD and my 2002 Tacoma DCSB TRD OR 4WD than when I got my 2018 DCSB TRD Sport. Nowadays there’s just not too many places anymore to go exploring (on Oahu anyway). I’m sure Texas offers much more adventure. But I just can’t get past the weather.
