That’s amazing how this Tacoma was converted from a second gen to a third gen. The truck is so awesome especially with that V8 engine. Those headlights are cool and that is what I would call extreme talent to build that. I know that I don’t have that inclination mechanically to do that. I was able to choose what I wanted yo have on my build while I don’t have the V8 swap yet. I’d like to do that to my truck though. Maybe after the V6 maybe. Still an amazing build.

@@ravsuv-help794 yup car camping. Funny enough, when pre runners want something like an overlander. They buy a toy hauler/travel trailer. I guess it's all about purpose. 1:13 You can see that the twin traction beam style front suspension changes camber severely. This is bad. Ever watch a Trophy Truck front IFS work? The wheels gain negative camber (as opposed to this vehicle's positive camber) as the suspension droops. They do this to maintain track width throughout suspension travel. This suspension does the opposite, it shortens the track width faster with suspension travel. . Reason why you want the wider track width? The suspension moves freely up and down. With a normal IFS, and heavily exaggerated in this style, as the suspension cycles it slides across the ground resisting suspension action. This is especially bad at high speeds since that pushing action as the track width grows from full drop to compressed can push the vehicle to one side or the other depending on which front wheel has better traction. Also, the vehicle can roll over easier. . And that's not even getting into the scrub radius those knuckles must have. . TTB is cheap travel, but travel isn't everything.
@nicklowe26862 жыл бұрын
Center-mount IFS is clearly better, but ttb/beams are easily superior to IFS based on factory-style pivots. Not everyone can drop 20k on a center-mount trophy truck front end. If your options are bolt-on A-arm kits or a ttb/beam swap, ttb/beams are an easy choice.
@KTMcaptain2 жыл бұрын
@@nicklowe2686 TTB reduces wheel track with travel. The opposite of what desert trucks run. And it has a lot of unsprung mass. Still a lot better than typical IFS to your point (basically I’m agreeing with you. Haha)
