Our yard takes appliances for same price as light iron, so I take the whole think, cut chord, take out motor and then scrap as light iron. Love your treasure hunting and wish we had that trash day in my town.

This, I think, is the first metal chair that you picked up, that we will see in almost every episode. Home Depot must of sold them this year, and the light brown fabric rips easily.

Hi TacoStacks, I agree the cool old desk looked pretty toast but how were just the drawers? The fronts look really pretty and the hardware.... nice; ) I bet they would sell at the flea I'd buy them for a buck. : D I might reuse the hardware to dress up another piece of furniture that has plain drawer fronts to give it a shabby chic look : ) then paint the piece using chalk paint. You could give it a try sometime just see if the drawers sell as is. I've found tons of awesome repurpose ideas for using just drawers from antique furniture on Pinterest. I'm always looking for hardware like that. Love your videos, your positive attitude, and hustle. Happy Hunting Taco Stacks. 1L Michele

Men and women think so differently, don't we, 1L Michele? I'd love to drive around behind Mr. Taco just to take the things he isn't interested in. I loved that stack of clay flowerpots, too. He can have all the metal. I'll take all the chichi things.

How funny! I think the same thing, and there are so many items I want to see better (linens, anything pink, etc.) that he never gives a second glance at - lol.
@thegreaterbilby21717 жыл бұрын
Lurker here, but Michele's comment and your responses here prompted me to post because I'm the same lol. We don't have as much stuff to salvage/save here because we have such a small population here in Australia, but if I was over there I'd be on his trail for sure to pick up the stuff he rejects :) I practically salivate watching these videos seeing all the treasure.

That first mower you picked up was a vintage lawn mower. Not too many of those around anymore. If i was you i would of tried to flea market it AS IS for an easy 15 bucks. Believe it or not there are collectors out there. Those portable gazebos/yard canopies are a dime a dozen. The cover wears out, and the whole thing is scrap

How often does this neighborhood sit out this type of scrap? Our city picks up once a month for scrap that doesn't fit in the trash can, and I have never seen this much scrap, even then. You are lucky.
@frankt69067 жыл бұрын
I only take the bikes if broken and flat tires. I have knocked on doors and it's always scrap but not worth breaking a kids heart if unsure. I also agree on lawnmowers, you can usually be sure if they're broken but the fresh grass is always a hint.

I believe that those kegs can be returned to places that sell kegs as the person who purchased them filled would have to had paid a deposit on the keg itself. Perhaps you can get the deposit. That’s how it works where I live.

How do you know is steel wire. I thought all cord was copper????

He was probably wrong, I've never seen steel wire. It was likely aluminum, which is also quite conductive. Used mainly in coaxial cables.

I sell over 200 vacuums per year, that I pick up in people's trash. Many just need a belt, or lint cleaned out of the hose. I scrap a few for parts and rarely have to buy any parts. 200 X $15. (average) = $3,000. per year and I never spend more than 20 minutes fixing them.
