A preference for the number 12 is about ease of divisibility. 12 is the smallest number divisible by 1, 2, 3, and 4. This is why we use 12 hour blocks to tell time. If we want divisibility by 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 then the smallest such number is 60. We also get divisibility by 6 as well. That is why the oldest number systems from ancient Sumaria were base 60 not base 10. This is also why we use 60 seconds in a minute & 60 minutes in an hour. To get divisibility by 1 - 7 the smallest number is 420. Everyone, including me, considers that more trouble than it is worth. When you divide two numbers the quotient can either stop: 10÷4 = 2.5 or the decimal may go on forever: 10÷6 = 1.6666... A human mind can get around the infinite decimal using fraction. 10÷6 = 1 & 2/3 Computer can NOT do this and must use the decimal form. Unfortunately, computers also can't understand an infinite decimal and just round or truncate the number at some point leading to rounding error. In base 12 you don't have a repeating decimal when dividing by any of the following: 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10 So a computer fixated society may embrace 12 to minimize repeating decimals. Note: our modern computers use base 16 not base 12. 16 is easier to use with respect to binary than 12. For the Omnissiah, I present the sequence of Perfect Base Numbers: 1, 2, 6, 12, 60, 60, 420, 840, 2520, 2520, 27720, 27720, 360360, 360360, 360360, 720720

But what about 24 as it is 12 * 2? What negatives come from using 24 number system (especially in time)
@TacticaImperialis4 жыл бұрын
Because you have to invent twice as many unique numbers to remember, broadly. 'Base 12' as it is known had to invent 2 numbers between 9 and 10 (taking the place of 10 and 11 respectively whilst 10 replaced 12 to keep consistency). Do that at base 24, and suddenly you have 14 new numbers to invent before you can use 10 to replace 24, which makes learning numbers much harder for children and makes life just more complex in general.

The Skitarii are a invaluable part of the Tech-Piest of Mars armies. The Skitarii are advanced army group that outperform any un-argument humans, and even match the Space Marines combat capabilities. They protect the forge worlds that swore oaths to Mars, and they are extremely ruthless and powerful in their right within the Imperium military branches, but one must not forget that once the Skitarii are deploy they will crush any enemy that stand before them.

If im not mistaken, latin words are pluralized how its pronounced in the video but your way is super common. But Tactica is the best kind of correct.
@abelbabel84844 жыл бұрын
@@TheEgoify Latin words ending in -us are pluralized to -i, e.g. one Skitarius, many Skitarii. The original Latin pronunciation would be the "Skitari-ee" version, the "eye"-sound is the anglicized version.
@Stimm0024 жыл бұрын
But it's not Latin, it may be based on Latin in alot of cases but still isn't Latin. Tactica has this weird obsession of saying 40k stuff weirdly, sometimes its because there are examples of words being said in that manner, sometimes it's like this where Skitari has never been said how he pronounces it, not by GW, not in any audio books, not even in a paint tutorial. In any case even when the latin pronunciation would seem right we have to remember nearly every example of historical words such as places or languages has totally changed, becoming a warped Chinese whisper version of its origin, so it wouldn't be said how it is in latin. Each to there own and sometimes it sounds better or makes sense, tactica just takes it to the extreme doing it at every opportunity, I'm starting to think he's trolling, just because of how far he takes it. Skitari-eye... Cool video as always.
@abelbabel84844 жыл бұрын
@@Stimm002 Well it's not English either, so out goes the anglicized version - especially outside of anglophone countries. And if your Chinese whisper theory of pronunciation was correct, no poem older than 15 minutes would rhyme - but they do. We can reconstruct the exact way people spoke, from pronunciation to diction to cadence for any time period of any language where there's surviving books. There's actor groups doing Shakespeare's plays in the English of the period. It sounds marvelous.

Honestly, the only biological factor that should matter is resilience to pharmaceutical side effects as everything else can be altered and augmented artificially. Even aggression can be enhanced via behavioral modification and the aforementioned pharmaceuticals. One need only sequence the genome of Skitarii baselines, compare the genomes of the baselines that experienced the most and least severe side effects and develop a gene therapy using the unique genetic markers of the latter and discarding the genome records of the former. This process could be repeated znd new pharmaceutical developed until superior Skitarii are created.

Skitarii are 100% slaves. They might have freedom of thought, but they don’t have freedom of action. Even their freedom of thought is circumscribed, curtailed as it is by their cybernetics, cybernetics they can not refuse.
