Was it really dominance or did Poland just choose to just sit back and do nothing? They didn't attack at all. It was Argentina who was desperate for a win, so of course they would have a more attacking mind set. It's almost as if they were ok with conceding a few goals and hoping for blind luck that things would go in their favour in the other match being played. So instead of trying to influence the match they had control over, they were relying on the match they had no control over to secure a 2nd place in the group stage. Kinda cowardly if you ask me.

@@sakinomura9482 Ok, fair enough. It was hard to tell for me seeing how resigned Poland was to defend all the time and didn't make any effort to gain possession of the ball. I never sensed in them any urgency to gain possession or attempt an attack. But it's possible that Argentina was that dominating and threating that it made Poland not want to even risk attacking.

Poland did what they had to do ..they knew they did not stand a chance against Argentina...so the Coach had to make a decision,whether to sit back or attack.....It might look negative but the truth is the coach made a right decision and now they are through to round of 16.... In football,it's not always the best teams who wins 🤷

I come from Poland. Take my apology after the game. It was disgusting, shameful and dishonor how my national team performed. It was anti-football and anyone shouldn't play in this way. To have exact context, 0-2 against Argentina and the same result Mexico - Saudi Arabia would give us the promotion coz we had less yellow cards than Mexico. That's why we didn't want to concede another goal and the team was "satisfied" of the result. However, I'm not satisfied and the promotion tastes very bitterly.

My unexpert impression was that Poland was too chicken to try to attack or commit players forward. They also did not press at all, meaning they didn't care about attacking or keeping possession.
