what weapon would you choose? we have 3 choices: the M1 Garand, already a legend by this point; the M1 Carbine, a very popular weapon among the troops; and, let’s jump ahead in time a bit, the proton cannon from the arc reactor on Iron Man’s breastplate. very difficult choice. which would you choose?

IM's arc reactor blasts had an incredibly limited range: 200ft or closer. Not useful outside of CQB. A hyper-velocity standard projectile firearm would be far more useful.
@Xoruam7 жыл бұрын
My choice for Iwo Jima - if it was available at the time - would be a f-ing plasma rifle. WTH kind of argument is this, "if it was available at the time"? Yeah, of course you would choose a weapon from +12 years in the future, no shit. In a fight between a Messerschmitt and a Spitfire I would also choose an F-18 Hornet, but that's kind of missing the point, isn't it?
@johnlloyddy70164 жыл бұрын
The M14 kinda surprised me too. I was expecting the third choice to be a B.A.R.
@davidsirmons3 жыл бұрын
it's a legitimate statement: imagine what kinds of projectile weapons might be in the future, and some enterprising individual or group could task themselves with making it NOW. I've thought about this at length, and it's pushing me to become a gunsmith to test it.

Jay Mendez I do given all the other stuff I need to learn as an infantryman I try to keep up with a little bit of MOUT training at home if you got a rubber ducky gun or a airsoft weapon that's probably the most ideal to use put on your plate carrier to if you got one so it simulates having to maneuver around furniture and corridors in full kit nothing wrong with that just make sure everyone on this thread just be safe about it.

That Iwo Jima one took ne out of the episode. i was thinking the three choices would be garand, carbine, bar, or maybe switch out the carbine for a thompson but the m14 was pointless. In the battle of Midway would you rather have an f4f wildcat, a corsair, or an f86 sabre. its just a dumb comparison.

Expose the gun to early when hitting corners. Can easily be grab if a enemy is riding the edge of a corner. If in a boor way it slows the team from coming in behind you. And turn corners with gun pointing down is crazy to me.

This was absolutely wonderful, great job LV. A little critique if I may; The part reviewing Iwo Jima, the weapons reviewed were the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine and M14(just for consideration sake). The bit would have been much better served by sticking with the historical options and just going a little deeper, example: M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M1903A4, B.A.R. M1A1 Thompson, M3 Grease Gun, M1919A6 .30cal. This would give a more historical accurate review and consideration and really add a lot of depth to the program. I understand these weapons can be difficult to come by and shooting a vid like this takes a lot of hard work, it was very enjoyable nonetheless and we can't wait for more episodes. It fills that big gap historical shooters and collectors are needing for viewing and listening material while at the gym, commuting, relaxing etc. Great Job.

@mrdark99163 жыл бұрын
Mine as well lol. For precise shots, co-witness your dot through your rear sight aperature, tightens it up very well for me. Takes no effort, I don't even notice I do it anymore, it became natural with training. For close, quick shooting not necessary, but for a bit of a longer poke it helps quite a ton, tightens it up to a perfect crisp dot rather than a damn paint splatter haha. Astigmatism ftw... Lol

Larry Larry Larry... M14 HANDS DOWN BROTHER!!! If our soldiers had the M14 in WW2 there sure as shit woulda kept MANY MANY more American GIs alive and greatly attributed to lots of more dead Krauts... My Grandad watched many of his brothers get ventilated by those Nazi fucks as the spoon jumped from thier M1 Garands as they fumbled to reload. My Grandad and I had this very same conversation before he passed. God bless those young 18, 19 and 20yr old men who stormed the beaches on D-Day facing almost certain death. Now 18yr old boys need a safe place to go when they are stressed out. Grandads generation was most definitely the greatest generation of Americans. Ever.

I have no idea why people are calling this cringey. This is an educational and entertaining video, with at least one of the people participating in it being a former Delta Force Operator. There is no bad acting, there is nothing cringey about this video at all, it is not a video of some kids pretending to be soldiers. Sure, it may have a little bit of that American swash and swagger about it, but it is an American video, after all.
