The mission was uh...well...advertised to the group as a simple snatch and grab. Obtain an item...return to base...but what we hadn't anticipated was the properties of the item. This...elusive and downright impossible to comprehend. It bent space and time all around us...holding onto the case that contained it caused madness among the others...we would have to change shifts on who held the case. Eventually it was the squad leader's turn... He was different. He didn't want to let the case go. He eventually began to speak about it more like he knew what it was...almost as if someone spoiled the surprise to him. Regardless the mission was completed...we got paid...but everyone is different now. We all feel it too. We've changed entirely...can't explain it. I have a feeling it won't be the last time we encounter these things again. Whatever they are...
