Great job!! A really good quick guide to basic tracking! Some people realize that sometimes in tracking you might have to get on the ground to see some anomalies. Age of a track or sign is something that takes some time in learning. One thing I do, is step in a soft section in the yard, then daily go observe it. Notice how it changes. “ There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter.” Ernest Hemingway

The “hunting of man” quote has been a daily source of joy and pain in my life for several years now. Great post.

@@thedeerskindiary Thanks for asking. How about setting up a real life tracking scenario. Have someone leave a trail through various terrains, then you track the person showing what to look for and how to read the signs. For example, recreate the trail and tracking of Boone’s daughter. Obviously the Indians didn’t want to be found and likely made efforts to stymie trackers. But as I recall, Boone’s daughter did things to leave a trail as she knew her father would be looking for her. I know setting up something like this would be work. Thanks for considering it. Also, how about a video demonstrating what you do if you lose a trail. Great videos. Thanks for making them.

Thank you for the support. I am just getting started is the plan. The channel has been out for about 10 months now and I’m learning a lot about videos. There is indeed more content on the horizon!

Worked on this long ago. Wonder how one group knows another's moccasin track?

My guess is that it partly has something to do with the sole type.

It’s the Cherokee pattern. Look up Noel Gray on KZbin. He does an excellent tutorial on how he makes them. That’s what I did.
