Larry was definitely bitten by the 'homemade bug'. Many years ago a lot of us on the West Coast thought he was nuts with some of his Northeastern contraptions! He crossed the hemisphere of big game fish to Black Bass that started a big 'splash' in the industry. That a boy Larry... FHOF

Matt and Tim, as always, thank you for the great video guys! I live in SC and picked up a 130 bream color last week to throw on small ponds. It absolutely destroys them. All sizes of bass too! It's always funny to me when a dink smashes it and I pull it out of the water to find out it's not much bigger than the bait itself, cracks me up. Thanks for all you do and please keep it up! #TB4Life

The note about the hard bottom makes a TON of sense. The lake that I spend a majority of my time on is mostly rock. However, I tend to get bites on the WP around softer bottoms. I can see how the loud sound could be bouncing around on the hard bottom either spooking or confusing the fish.

What a great video! Last year I had an unfortunate encounter with a small jaw that didn't want my whopper plopper rear treble in his mouth. He flipped into my hand. 2 of the 3 hooks in to the bone!! I had it surgically removed and they had to cut the split ring and hook obviously. I contacted River 2 Sea about it and they sent me new split rings and hooks and I noticed that they are a higher quality than the original hook and split ring so they are stepping up their game in that aspect! Great company and a fantastic bait!

My favorite type of bass fishing is top water. I’ve been seeing the whopper plopper craze for a long time but I’ve never joined in on it. I had a few Karl’s bait and tackle gift cards laying around that had little odd amounts left in them after big purchases. Had enough to get me 3 ploppers. Man I’m glad I did! I’ve been missing out. Most fun top water fishing I’ve ever had! I got them all in 110 size. I may try a 130. I love them. I got a bone, black, and shad color!

I've made it just shy of 2 minutes into this video and already know it's on point. No surprise with you guys though... Grew up bass and musky fishing in the north/midwest and canada. Plopper is a musky bait that's been brought to the bass world. Everybody loves topwater, so musky fishing I'd always have one of bucher's top raiders on the front deck. Didn't take me long to realize I was catching more really big bass while out musky fishing than while actually bass fishing -- and not just largemouth. Caught quite a few big smallmouth on them too. That's an 8" bait that's like 2+ oz...and they'd come un freaking glued on it. It's pretty awesome to see that all these years later somebody (you guys) is putting so much of this awesome info out there. Connecting a ton of dots from a ton of big bass days with a musky rod in hand!

Very informative, thanks! I'm mostly a pike fisherman, and dont really like topwaters much. Over the years though, I've notice that in very dirty water pike sometimes have an easyer time finding a lure on the surface, so I'm thinking I'll pick up a couple of these just to throw when the water is dirty, and hopefully turn around some slow days.

Hey man! Loved the video! I seriously just discovered the whopper plopper this year. Central Ohio. I have turned many of my friends onto it and ABSOLUTELY love the Yoda color in the 90 for smallmouth fishing in the river. They destroy it! I’ve also gotten a double (yes two smallies on one bait at a time) using it like a POPR. If it doesn’t work I switch over to a tube or Senko lol. The whopper plopper is absolutely one of my favorite all time baits!

Very nice lures. I finally got blessed with my first one the smaller one the 90. Which I run a kids non profit fishing group but we can't buy lures like that. We only really get yard sale or big sale lures. Now I've sold some personal things of mine and got some 3 to 5 dollar lures to give away. But a man went fishing forgot his rod and reel no baits really. It was late no bug spray said he can't stay but few min. He wanted to take his kayak out. So I gave him bug spray to use and gave him some plastics let him pick what he wanted. So he went out maybe 45 min this it was dark dark. But I was loading up got in my truck and I hear hey weight. Got back out he goes I want you to have this I've got many nice bass. I have plenty of these. I was almost in tears. Don't get me wrong I get donations to give away I've gotten worms small lures giving to me. But never a 14 dollar lure. There's is awesome people out there. I've gave thousands of baits away to kids even shipped some box fills to 2 in different states yea one maybe both they didn't appreciate it just kids wanting something for free. But I blessed them and one day they'll realized they asked for a few gave a sad sad story. Thinking I'll scam him. Well I love to give and I had a filling but I'm about giving he didn't scam me. He write a sad story someone said nasty things to him he's 13 don't cuss or out down a kid. Well I mailed him a big box of stuff even a reel. The second he win a contest to find out he didn't 2 people had the same name. But one period in the name was the different. So I felt bad and hooked him up. He said thanks and even chatted more the first just a kid that karma's gonna get him one day hill open his eyes. But I believe in karma what you do comes back to you. And yea just one lure gave to me big it was so big I'm my heart cause I can't work so this ment alot. Can't weight to catch a fish with it and one day I'll find some on sale great lure. For the vidoe thanks sir this helped me and will help me teach others I'm gonna save this video on my channel play list thanks. God bless
