I’m glad you mentioned the Abu inshore reel. I have owned a previous generation of this reel and after 5+ years, feels a good as the day I bought it (I do my own annual servicing)! I use my inshore reel for flippin’ as the drag is just so good and tight!

I have the Abu Garcia Maxx Pro. It's the only name brand reel I have. This is my first season using a baitcaster and I've got to say I fell in love with them. I've had family members notice me get into fishing and bought me a few reels off good old Temu. Those work but I'm dying to use/own a nice combo. Great reviews, as always 🎣 You should review more of the Kastking baitcasters. These are affordable quality reels. I've had a Kastking Bassinator Elite since the introduction, and it is a workhorse. The breaking and side plate are very similar to the old-school Shimano reels. I'm a Daiwa guy, mainly SS SV, Zillion & Steez. BFS reels Zephyr, Kestrel, Tatula BF 70, PX BF70 Other reels: Citica 200D, Lews MP Tournament, Kastking Speed Demon Elite & Crixus.

The kvd reel is ax workhorse for me, that abu max pro is Def a great reel for the money, i can chuck a bait with that, it'll empty the spool on you, I'm sure they are all good cuz TB wouldn't be talking about them, But those are my 2 favorites that i own

The Aldebaran BFS is super refined and will cast the super light stuff, but don't sell it short if you want to bomb a cast out there. Aldebaran BFS with 10# braid on a Megabass Pop-X Stick will almost completely dump the spool throwing a Baby Pop-X or Shower Blows 77.7 without really trying.

The Abu Garcia Revo BFS reel, what’s the lowest weight you can throw on this. Its reviews on tackle warehouse says it has trouble throwing 1/8 ounce but I wanted to see what you guys thought about that. I know a lot of the time someone might just leave a negative review on something just to do it. My next question is if I wanted to get a budget friendly bfs combo that’s not gonna break the bank that’ll get the job done and can hopefully send it what would your recommendations be? Your videos r so awesome! I've noticed you never talk about kast king .. do u not buy their stuff because it's crap? I was looking at the deadbolt (no drag) for a broomstick rod and 65lb braid for frog and punching.... Have u guys tried it?

Kastking is mostly budget and not for professional fisherman. They are prone to fail and don't have those standout unique features. They copy shimano and daiwa and cheaper it by 20%. But also 20% less quality.

New to baitcasters. Even after adjusting the braking, I cant seem to get the distance out of it like I can with a spinning setup. I have a TATU TW 100L. Primarily throwing baits in the 3/8 to 5/8 range.

You still have the settings tight if you're not getting that reel to cast as far if not farther than a spinning reel. It takes time to really learn fine tuning over basic tuning to keep from backlashing. Just keep at it and loosen the breaks and tension a little at a time until you're very comfortable with the lowest settings you can cast without backlashing or overrunning. One thing to remember is you can whip a spinning reel way harder than you can a baitcaster. You can use a lighter casting style (just a flick of the wrist) with the right settings and cast a long way with a baitcaster.

@nickt423 once you really get the hang of it you can fine tune a baitcaster on the fly. Maybe a couple or 3 casts after a lure change. I take so many because I hate changing lures and having to retie on the water 😂. Sad part is I use baitcasters from bfs to big swimbaits so my little jon boat is full of setups when on fishing 🤷‍♂️😂

One big tackle shop told me 13 reels were the more problematic of all the brands they sold by a large margin. That was 2 years ago. Take that for what it was worth. Maybe their new ones are better? Seviin reels look just like an Okuma. Same company making them?

Abu doesnt make a ultra light casting reel period. Many bfs guys have tested those reels and some sent the revo back. Its not a ultra light reel its barely a bfs reel 😂. It does not handle really light lures well. The curado is 10 times the reel and it doesnt handle the really ultra light lures very well but will handle bfs lures well. That 2.5/3ish gram and up. The revo doesnt even handle a 3g lure that well.

Oh wow shimano put big technology in the slx a 😂 they put some rubber o rings on the spool shaft 😂. Everything else in that reel is exactly the same as the older slx. It's also not a good beginners reel, the slx xt is much better for a beginner.

2 season on Striped Bass with Calcutta Conquest 201XG and it getting destroyed. When reeling, you feel a tiny lock up in the gears. It feels like one of the gear teeth is worn out or broken off. My cheaper reel will last 1 season and you immediately feel the difference. Up to you if you wanna spend high dollars. However, when using for smaller species like bass they all last almost forever.

Depends on the rod. All 1/2 oz baits arent the same. Line size also matters.

Just like yesterday’s video you could eliminate all the reels except shimano and daiwa. No brand has that smooth buttery feel that both shimano and daiwa have. Most OEM reels have crappy internals whether it be shoddy gears, bearings, or mechanisms.
