Every time. I go to put your videos on in the background while I cook dinner and I end up not preheating the oven and just watching the entire video. I've seen this type of video from you guys for like 10 years now but apparently I can't get enough. Y'all would have the best podcast but I'll settle for the buyer's guides every year.

I recently picked up the GLX 844C MBR because of the way Matt lights up when he talks about them…. Man, you were right, Matt! Those GLX MBR rods are special! I had the most fun on the water throwing the SV-3 last week and absolutely slayed them burning the bank. I love that rod so much, I just put an order in for the GLX 843C MBR. Thanks for the awesome advice gentlemen!

Don't forget to have some single Colorado and double Colorado blade spinnerbaits in mid-size and compact frames for cool to cold water and low visibility situations. The extra vibration is something everyone keys in on, but I think the SLOWER retrieve speed helps just as much in murky water or low light conditions, and IMO that slower speed is ESSENTIAL in colder water.

Absolutely one of my favorite bites … so simple but so intricate if you take the dive …. I’m almost glad the chatter bait came about bc a lot of guys sleep on spinnerbaits now a days ….. I still believe the original terminator spinner bait was probably one of the best in my opinion

Excellent seminar as always. Have not acquired skill to catch a fish yet; however, I hope that 2025 will be my year to make a difference with a spinner bait and bladed jigs. Thank you for your diligence to present so much valuable information to the community.
@tacticalbassin21 сағат бұрын
This will be your year! The first is by far the most difficult! Back when we were new to swimbait fishing it took Matt 3 years to get the first bite. It took 1 day, and 20 minutes to get the 2nd and 3rd. Regardless of the technique, the first one is always larger than life, it gets much easier once that's out of the way.

I mostly throw the screaming eagle and the SV3. For some reason I always throw the screaming eagle without a trailer and I’m always using the burn, burn, pause retrieve in warmer water. I’ve caught a lot of big bass doing that. I throw the SV3 in a wider range of conditions and I tend to pop it and work it a lot more. I can’t tell you how many bites I’ve got just after popping the bait to make the blades flare. It will definitely trigger some followers into biting. I do have several Nichols Pulsators with the glitter blades but I don’t throw them that much. They are just so pretty I had to buy a bunch of them!

The spinnerbait, the most versatile bait on the market...can be fished top to bottom...12 months/year...any weather...YET, most people rarely throw 1 anymore....just more for me to buy! 😂 3/8, 1/2, & a 1 oz..double willow in white, shad, and bluegill/perch is the only 3 u need to catch bass...for a 4th if desired, black is underrated too

One of the most underutilized techniques in bass fishing is throwing spinnerbaits that represent a blue gill instead of everything always being about shad. That thump, dark blades, black or purple #6 indiana blades, black skirt, sun gill swimbait trailer smashes them year round. You'll catch bigger bass and more because everyone seems to throw the same old standard willows, shad color, shad looking trailer. And I'll also catch deeper fish during the summer with a 1oz shad colored spinnerbait with #7 giant willow blade on it. I've seen schools ignite on that more than crank baits and big worms or any of that other normal stuff.
@tacticalbassin18 сағат бұрын
Out of curiosity, what region of the country are you in?
@bgood41912 сағат бұрын
@@tacticalbassin I live in Ohio, but I promise you this works anywhere bass eat blue gill which is basically everywhere. I also smash them skipping these same spinner baits under docks. Everyone wants to skip jigs and worms and craws under there but they haven't seen too many spinnerbaits

I'd be concerned with the skirts getting messed up by keeping them loosely in a bag. I also only have about 15ish spinner baits. The standard hanging box works really well for my needs.

The new dirty jigs compact spinnerbait looks pretty but I’ve got some issues with it. The wire isn’t very strong, the hook shank is very short, and the bait keeper is just terrible. Would’ve been better with no bait keeper at all because they way it is now it will split the nose of your trailer wide open.
@tacticalbassin21 сағат бұрын
Interesting, thanks for chiming in. We've put a ton of days on the water with this spinnerbait and absolutely love it! The wire is definitely designed for maximum vibration, something that we appreciate. What trailer are you using? We haven't experienced the splitting at all, but that can be very bait dependent. The short shank is self explanatory in the name... it's the same design concept as the other baits in their "compact" series so it's a shorter shank intentionally. If someone is after a long shank option this definitely wouldn't be the one. I look forward to hearing the specifics of your setup, as Tim and I are always learning on and off the water.
@josephakins275419 сағат бұрын
@@tacticalbassin thanks for the reply! The bait runs true in the water and I definitely caught fish on it, but even a 1.5 pounder was able to bend it all to heck and I just really wish it had a different baitkeeper. I was using a little 6th sense 3.2” divine swimbait, which is a pretty durable swimbait but you can’t really slide it up onto the lead they molded onto the shank by the head.

Finesse baits is stretch to Long is it really finesse bait at 3/8 ⁉️ I don't think so even 1/4 is getting to be finesse but still full size frame on them B is not Small like the 1/8 ounce bait is money remod. It to two blades or more. The bubble Colorado blades big big blades to be a thumper. 40 lbs line 🤷🏼 small line⁉️🥴 Riley Big line I that 30 lbs was large in lbs.

Tim or Matt, HELP. I want to buy my first MGL reel, and I want it for square bills(1-3 feet)/6-8 foot cranks. Looking at the metanium over the bantam and aldebran. Agree? Or Daiwa model? Want to stay under 500$ Also, do you think the DC Metanium is worth the extra 50$ Plan on pairing up with Legend Tournament 7'2 M/M or 7'4 MH/MF. Looking at 7 speed so can use for speed cranking and other non cranks (why thinking about putting on the MH/MF). I have a lot of DCs so I'm used to them and I currently already have more 6 speeds than 7s.

Those buzbee half flats are the bomb. Two hold my entire complement of spinner baits and a 3rd holds my skirted swim jigs. The std full size bags are great too. I'm using those for JDM finese hooks / strolling type heads / underspins. What I like about the full buzbee it is not only being compact (thin) but I'm leaving the underspins / jig heads in their original packaging which elimates the guessing game on quickly finding exact weight / size as opposed to storing in a std box.
