I only have one hand, and I'm recently getting into steel challenge and next is USPSA, and this has been pretty valuable info! I'd love to see more.

This is honestly how people should train especially those ccw one handed shooting is the most realistic scenario you can come across

Working from right to left SHO and left to right WHO to ride the recoil is something that so many people miss or are never taught. Huge detail.

Good to get comfortable shooting one hand for defensive use too. And not that a range would allow it, but that last drill is good to try while dry firing with either hand.

Back on the day. I chose the neck index flashlight technique. That inclued one hand shooting! You step foward to align your iron sights with your dominant eye. We got taught hand transfers to weak hand shooting & angling the pistol, gangster style, to aline the iron sights up with your dominant eye. I don't play in gun games. One hand both strong & weak hand is an importaint skill rven it was acheved in a different way!

As a new shooter that can only depend on one hand it would have been interesting to see how to handle a gun with only one hand from beginning to end

How about shooting one handed while the other hand is holding a cane?
@leonardpearlman401710 ай бұрын
That would be hard to beat! Everyone would be impressed.

This is where real world departs competition shooting immediately. Your weak hand should be practicing either deflecting a blow or holding a flashlight.

Depends on what you mean with real world. I've been carrying stretchers and having to pull my service pistol.

Like trex arms says when your practicing shooting it’s shooting. Tactical movement should be trained deliberately for that.

Shooting one handed with a dot is simple. Doing it with irons is a bit more tricky. Keeping the gun at 90 degrees is vital. On a side note, put that ammo can down and reload with both hands. 😂
@gregchabot71602 жыл бұрын
It's called a handgun, not a hands gun. If you don't practice one-handed you're a fool. That's the way I learned in the 70s on N frame S&Ws.😉
@anangryranger2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it's foolish, but it is ill advised not to train with one hand shooting. Old school cop here. Trained heavily with one hand shooting with a 4" S&W Mod 28 357Mag revolver beginning in the 70's. Draw and shoot from 3' out beyond 15 yds. And though now long retired, I still train well over 50% or more on one hand shooting with a S&W mod 642 38Spl. The weapon got smaller and lighter, but the training remains the same.

Colossal waste of time. Next time, talk about the difference in a one handed grip versus two hands. All your video was used for was self practice. No help at all.
