A lot of P-47s came back with tree branches in their engines, I like how you just automatically explode in DCS.

Imagine the computations needed for having every branch modelled with physics in DCS🤣

And I'm the sad sap who keeps managing to kill the engine on dive runs. Dive in, miss, pull out, weird rattle noises followed by silence. I know it has to do with chopping the throttle to 0 at high RPM, and it kills the main bearing. But I repeated and cut it (slowly) to about 1/3 throttle with the same result. I suspect it has a lot more to do with RPM having been at max because I was successful after I brought it back to ~2400 RPM prior to the dive. Yet I've done prolonged dogfights capable of running my water dry, with an intact engine.

Excellent tutorial, for the brand new DCS Pilot with a Jug, could you also give some tips on dogfighting with this bad boy?

Have You tried the Wolfpack campaign at all ? I run out of gas every time I try the first mission. I tried carrying more fuel and even that did not work. STUCK !

Thank you for this tuto. I see you have opted for 1.0 pixel density in DCS and 1.3 supersampling in OTT. Can you reverse these settings ? 1.3 pd in DCS and 1.0 ss in OTT ? Do you get the same graphical results and performance ?
@TacticalPascale3 жыл бұрын
I’ve not tried those parameters.

I thought the ww2 damage model was more realistic than that? I’ve hit trees in the spit and it doesn’t just blow up but pulls the plane apart.
@mostevil10823 жыл бұрын
it's definitely improved, but realistic is a bit strong.
