This fine young men seems excited, since i am assuming they never shot a shotgun 'with no sights'😊 Still bringing the pistol to eye level and referencing the top strap similar to using 'sights' The real test would be shooting blindfolded😮

Everyone has a limit. Right now I can reliably hit “w/o sights” at 5 yards. Beyond that, I need to see more. Certainly getting more target focused learning from the Ron Avery Way.

@ Beyond the body mechanics required, I would be interested to view content that covers the mental game in depth. Learning to focus on the point of impact, rather than the target, a dot or some small imperfection on the surface. Learning to use your mind’s eye to augment and transform the center of the point of impact. Using this technique to free up sensory bandwidth used by vision, making it available to enhance control of the muscles used to manipulate the pistol. There are drills that I consistently perform much better when my vision is blocked or my eyes are closed. I was embarrassed when this first happened. After awhile it peaked my curiosity and that is when I thought to keyword “sensory bandwidth” into a browser. I learned that up to 80% of the total bandwidth is allocated to vision…the secret behind aim small, miss small, IMHO. With regard to sightless shooting, the drill shown in this video is not exhibition level performance; although it’s a lot more than I’ve seen on YT.

Actualy no at normal pistol distances.I had a Colt 1911A1 that for a while had no sights on it because I had removed the original military sights prior to fitting after market sights.And up to say 20 yards I was quite easily able to hit 10 inch steel plates.In fact I could actually hit faster than if I was using sights.

The most prolific gunfighters in history didnt use the sights most often. Particularly in common combat distances

It all depends on the distance and the target's level of exposure. While it’s important to consider that most gunfights statistically occur at short-range distances-typically between 5 and 11 yards-this is just one factor to keep in mind.
