He had to kill the others fbi agents in the same time so the police can't deduct that it was him, because just killing Ray would put the attention on him. He had to, to clean himself from the case and disturb the police and L, but at the end L re take the control....... Can't wait for the future episodes lol

I don't think that Light saw those FBI agents different than the other criminals, because for him it should be a crime to defend criminals

yeap, but he's just wrong, he's just excusing himself to murder innocent people in his battle of pride against L. Those detectives were just doing their jobs, those people who want to catch Kira just have different perspectives on crime and criminals, they don't think they all deserve to die. But Light can't tolerate anyone who disagrees with him because he's supposedly a god... That would be a very messed up god.

@@Allanfeijoada Light can't tolerate people who disagree with him AND put him in danger. And putting him in danger is the equivalent of ruining this world with less crimes. Sure, Ray Rember wasn't suspicious about Light, but Light didn't know that Ray Pember wouldn't cause him more trouble, otherwise, Light would have not killed him probably. At the end of the series, Light said that global crime has been reduced by 70%, so for those inocente people like Ray Pember or Naomi is Misora, Light is saving way more inoccent people. Again, those aren't just people that disagree with him, those are people that would've catched him if they continue living. Sure, I think that Light shouldn't enjoy killing people like Ray Pember or Naomi Misora, but Light said at the beginning of the series, that he would make the world a better place, even if it costs him his soul and mind, so even Light knew that using the death note would change him in this way, and he still decided to sacrifice his mind and soul for the world's sake. But what choice did he have? Nobody would be able to remain healthy after using the death note honestly.

@@AlanLiebheart at the beggining of the series, in ep. 2, L didn't put Light in danger, because as Light said, as long as no one found any concrete evidence against him, he wouldn't be caught. If he hadn't done anything to kill Lind L. Taylor, the fake L, the police and L would never be able to tell where in the world was Kira, therefore Light would be safe. Yet, although he knew he wasn't in real danger, he still tried to kill L... What do you say about that?

@Betito Corcuera yeah. Those FBI agents were just doing their job and they had families!!!!! This is the episode were I went full team L. But in retrospect I should have turned against him when he killed Lind L. Tailor.

The Death Note can lead someone to do evil but Light’s father didn’t. This means when Light said everyone is compelled to use the Death Note once he was wrong.

Light killed all fbi agents to avoid suspicion, because if only ray penber had been killed, he would have been suspected of kira, since ray penber was the only fbi agent investigating Light. Poor ray, he won't be able to go to heaven or hell for having used his Death Note on the train

but he wrote the names unknowingly they would die, he never touched the pages of the death note. anyway, heaven and hell doesn't exist in death note's universe, death is equal for everyone, as stated in ep 37 mid credits, the place people go after death is mu (nothingness)

@@edgardorivera2459 that's a kinda not true, well Ryuk did tell the truth, well kinda. in the Deathnote universe, hell and heaven dont exist in that universe, it's confirmed by the original writers AND is mentioned in the official deathnote manga as well. Light wouldnt go to heaven nor hell, cause they simply dont exist. every human in that universe, despite of whatever they do, go into nothingness. do a quick google search and it would confirm by theory

Put yourselves in light's prespective. You are being followed by a person and you don't know what that person thinks of you. Since you are being kira, you will be in atmost caution everytime when going out which restrict your moves. If you kill only ray, then is totally obvious that the person ray was tailing killed him. Now kill all the FBI agents so that case will be same as before. FBI loses its trust on L and task force suspect L. Imo, that was a perfect plan for him to escape. SPOILER : Read this only if you have watched the episode 6 and 7. What light doesn't anticipated is naomi misora ( Ray's fiance) took a lead against him and trying to contact the taskforce. Light supprised as well as shocked after he met her accidently. Now if he leave her free, he is going to jail and executed instantly because L need only little info to track down kira. Light even knows that if he killed her, L will suspect him. But by elemination, killing her is the best instant solution for him escape and so he did.

Plus if Light had left Raye alone, he would have been cleared since Raye had finished his investigation and found no cause for suspicion. But since he killed Raye Penber, and then later Naomi once she started investigating, that gave L the clue to investigate the families that Penber was tailing, leading to Light as his main suspect.

Light made his biggest blunder when he kill Lind L Taylor I guess that's his greatest mistake that ruined his purpose (to cleanse the world free of criminals, evil people and rule as a God of justice) . His smart but his ego is just to big and his ideals are childish. But L is way smarter if any other regular detective is doing this they would be easily defeated or killed by kira, or they won't even consider catching Kira possible. this case doesn't have any crime scene, no evidence, and the killing doesn't appears to be scientifically/logically possible. but L recognised Kira's childish ideals, his pattern, his huge ego, he knows his location, he knows his only human not God.

For example, how evil is the evil I am defeating? What short-term and long-term consequences are clear to me? Justice is mankind's pursuit of an equality that is not absurd (i.e. everyone having their sight and hearing surgically removed because blind and deaf people exist would be absurd equality) hence it is subject to circumstances. I feel you Suzy, the first time I watched the show I wasn't sure if Light was doing the right thing or not, that's something I believe human beings will never know, what is real justice when death is being used for punishment. But, the moment when Light killed Ray Penber and the rest of FBI agents I knew he wasn't justice, he just lost it, killed innocent people and for me that's something only a criminal and a murderer could do. So I wonder... maybe that's what happens in real life when you give so much power to a single human, don't you think?

Light's reckless actions always come back to bite him in the end. If he hadn't killed Lind. L Taylor, L wouldn't have known that Kira was in Japan and narrowed his search. If he hadn't killed Raye Penber and the FBI agents, he would have been cleared of suspicion since Raye saw nothing out of the ordinary. Light's own hubris is and always will be his downfall.

To be fair with you, i'm actually surprised that Suzy to this point was rooting for Light or thought he's doing the right thing. Light is a murderer no matter who he kills, his methods are messed up as well as his mentality. We (viewers) saw that right from the first episode of anime. He was like "I wanna be a god and pass judgment on every living creature on this planet". There's no such thing as right way when it comes to killing people.
