Tactics of the Accuser (Part 1) | Theocast

Today's episode is the first of two on the tactics of the accuser, Satan, the ancient serpent who is the devil. Spiritual warfare is real, and as C. S. Lewis wrote, Christians tend to either hardly consider the devil's power or obsess over his power and activity. Neither of these perspectives are helpful or biblical. Jon and Justin consider this and then talk at length about perhaps the first of Satan's tactics against the saints: accusation. He seeks to rob us of the peace, rest, and hope that is ours in Christ. He seeks to cause us to question whether God is really our Father and whether Christ is really our savior.

Good stuff. I especially love the part about Christ being the armor. I do want to posit some thoughts, if I may. I would suggest that the belt of truth actually involves personal integrity. Let me explain. A belt has a body and a buckle. The body wraps around the waist and girds. The buckle holds it in place. Do you see where I'm going? The body is the God's truth. But if I lack personal integrity (truthfulness), the belt is not in place and I am not going to connect with that truth as I should (experience the girding). If I regard iniquity in heart, he will not hear my prayer. Other than the sword of the Spirit, the other pieces of armor all involve a "strap" or latching mechanism. I think this is very important: belt of truth (buckle) breastplate of righteousness (straps that go down or around the back) sandals of the Gospel (sandal straps) shield of faith (Roman shields had two straps inside, one for the forearm and one for grabbing) helmet of salvation (the strap under the chin)

I keep hearing accusing "voices" that I have made a mistake in my passport and I should not be traveling...there is an error in my place of birth (the exact location but not the country) I have spoken to mature believing Christian friends they say it's ok because while traveling internationally no one is concerned about the exact place of birth in the country but where you were born (the country) it is just paralysing. I am afraid of God's wrath is going to fall on me and strike me dead and my travel is going to be compelete failure. I really don't know what to do.

Distracted by watching the series Lucifer and starting to feel kind of sorry for the character who is Satan himself. I’m grateful for Gods grace. For the Holy Spirit putting conviction in my heart and I stopped watching it. Amen

God allows this warfare so that we learn to lean on/into the mediation of Christ. We have to learn that "on Earth is not his equal" as the old famous hymn says and that Christ is more than sufficient to carry us through it. But here is another window into warfare. Back in chapter 3, we see this ... "to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places," ... The devils are warring against this and against the unsearchable riches of Christ and against the fellowship of the mystery expressing in God's people.

What Satan does, is he ( Satan is the Crowned Prince of Dirty Cops ) gets you to do something foolish, wrong, or just plain BAD. Then when you DO those things, he turns traitor and runs to God and says “LOOK!!! SEE WHAT HE DID?!?! HE SWORE AN OATH TO POSEIDON!!! LET “ME” HAVE HIM!!! SEND HIM TO HELL WITH “ME!!!” If that fails ( and it usually does ), Satan then convinces you that you’ve gone too far and that there’s no point in “repenting” at this point!!!

This is a tactic I almost fell for it but by Gods grace I was shown the truth whether I accepted it or not He kept showing me it until I was saved. God is good

Was CS Lewis a Christian though? He did believe people could be saved without even knowing the name of Jesus, be saved by the mass, and thought many evil things about the Bible.

My wife love bombs me then does a complete 180 and tries to destroy my spirit. Constantly brings up any supposed injustice that’s ever happened over 15 years. One night while I was sleeping I had a vision. I saw a demon, with this evil slighted grin on his face and his eyes were like mocking hatred, I can’t describe it, it told me telepathically that its name is “the accuser”.
