I really am getting a lot out of the tactical talks. Would love to see one on effective use of officers. Thanks for your contribution to the hobby.

Great Video. For US mortars, the light mortar is still 3 man crew except the airborne version which is a veteran unit only

Thanks for another video. Just a friendly reminder: Trucks are not Open-Topped, they are Soft-Skinned vehicles. Open-Topped is a rule for Armored Vehicles. Thanks again.

The inexperienced light howtizer is 5 points more expensive than the inexperienced medium mortar. The piece is virtually immune against snipers, and it gets a gun shield. I'm not saying the regular mortar with spotter isn't a must have; but the inexperienced mortar isn't necessarily a must have.

Great again liked the when to hit it for better scores needed tip

One strategy I find highly effective is a heavy mortar with spotter. Wait for a unit to move and shoot at them with other units to try and put pins on them. Then fire the mortar. This is so that if you get the next dice you have a chance at a 5 and with those pins the enemy unit my not move and puts pressure on that unit to move or go down.

My mortar never seems to hit when I need it to but it does put pressure on my opponent and cause him to make moves he wouldn't want to other wise. Great video, looking forward to more!

Indeed. Noone likes getting a mortar shot at them. Forcing them down to be safe works as well

I know the video is a year old but I was wondering if you could make any more and put them on a playlist as they have been a good education on bolt action tactics but I can only find 4 like it on your channel

An excellent addition to your series. Keep up the outstanding work. I speak under correction, but I don't think that light mortars with 2 man crews get the small team rule (Because the equipment is to big). I believe this is covered in the errata, but I don't have them on me at the moment.

Great series of tutorials, but one question: who makes that building that you see at the top of the screen 7:00 onwards? I like the look of that one.

Mr. Wahoo, What rules do you find that are neglected, forgotten or not completely understood. Ex. Nco killed, long range penetration with tanks, artillery. Etc..

@ 23:35 does that mean you can now hit ether unit next turn on a 2+ if they don't move (as you have hit both units)? makes sense as you wouldn't have to august the mortar in real life?

The trick with waiting for the infantry to move then starting the bombardment is cool way to try deal with infantry. Do you think it is ever worth a Mortar Carrier like a US or German Mortar halftrack along with a 2nd say medium mortar team?
