If you like the lower boards i can tell you right now that its a good idea to avoid top mounts, especially if they have RKP trucks, I would go with either a drop down or drop mount for lower to the ground riding

Cruising is pretty much just chill riding around preferably on a flat surface, nothing extreme. Carving is when you go down hills and maneuver your board in a wide s-shape to control your speed and slow the board down a bit. Hope I helped.

OK so I'm looking to get a long board for cruising around the neighborhood and getting from point a to point b. I'm about 5'8" and weigh about 140. I was thinking of a Pintail board about 40" and can make tight turns. I don't want the board to be too stiff and uncomfortable so something with a little flex. I want a smooth ride that won't jar so much on the cracks in the concrete so what wheel size and durometer? I'm very curious on what board to get and thanks for any response.

I'm looking for a longboard that carves well but also offers decent stability on hills(not planning to bomb hills, though). My campus has some mild slopes, so I'd like a board with enough flex to absorb bumps/cracks, good carvability, and also stability for going down those slopes. Hey, i m new to skateboard community and i want to skate in my town (to go to my college etc)i dont really want a big longboard so i try to find a cruiser mini longboard or cruiser skateboard around 27-34 inches length and 8 inches width or abit more i dont mind. Pros: More expensive but same price as of right now, good for cruising and downhill, sweet look to it. Rough Pavement. I've seen longboard that need 1 push and can give u a decent distance. 3. Cruising around town. Also on college campus (from class to class and also dodging people) 4. Down hill stability. 5. No noise. idk how you get rid of the noise coming from the wheels contacting the ground and causing vibrations with the deck. 6. Can gain speed easily. I have a plus size skateboard. 35.75" Globe Snake Run. Got a bit of a deal on it. 62mm 88A(kinda hard and loud) wheels. It seems to work for cruising, but still feels much like the beat up skateboard I had as a kid 28 years ago. Better grip, better roll (bearing, wheel size and hardness I suppose). But could I have done better for comfortable (safe feeling) cruising? Should I try some random soft 70mm longboard wheels for get less wobbly, even more stable over off-grade pavement? I'm tall, so a small pebble will floor me. I still haven't giving up on one day ollie'ing again, so having a short double kicktail board seems good for me. It feel long, even after having grown a beard since last skating, but it feel familiar and seems better apt to crusing that the crappy thing (on original Kryptonics slammer wheels) I used to have. I'd love softer wheels, even if I have to work harder to get somewhere. I live in flat land city, and the roll jjust doesn't end. Super sketchy just stepping on it though, being tall and clumsy. Curious whether anyone else has dealt with similar considerations. On, I'm 6'4" with a high center of gravity. Crazy long legs and arms. Big head.
