Wow this is super insightful I’ve been seeing a lot of back and forth in the knife community about only buying made in America and one of the main selling points of that is quality, I think a good knife is a good knife regardless of where it’s made and the quality should speak for itself. Great video!

Thank You!! I do have my personal preference of US Made, but that does not 100% translate to the best value/quality/functionality. My biggest thing with doing the KZbin is to be as factual as I can with what I have experienced. I this case the Tactile is barely better in function than a slip joint. Nothing against them, I bought it with my own money and still plan to keep it. I just have to be mindful of how I use it.

Great demonstration! That Pyrite is a button lock that put up with a beating!! I'm guessing you'll be trading off or selling that one. 😺⚔️👍🏻

I rarely get rid of any knife I acquire, the Pyrite is actually my box opener at work, the Tactile I carry on occasion but I have to be mindful of how I use it. Thanks for the support, I greatly appreciate it.

@@arkansas_edcI'm curious what you have to be mindful about. What would you use that knife for that involved using its spine or what task would you be doing with a folder that would cause a lock fail?

@@joiryde1328 any tip work, stabbing, or most importantly cutting plastic banding since I work in shipping. SpineWhack tests simulate the same stress on the lack as those activities.

@arkansas_edc thank you for pointing this out. I get irritated by the number of people who say that a spine whack test is useless. Also, I like to know if I can be reasonably sure that my knife will hold up in an emergency situation to forces similar to a spine whack.

@@louzher6968 too many people hate on the spine whack, definitely an important thing for me I hate babying stuff. I need confidence in my gear.
