As a Habs fan, definite no to all those trade options. I don't see Kent Hughes abandoning the youth movement/rebuild process with these team manageable contracts on the future core to land Miller with Slaf going the other way. But, of all the options, that's most likely.

As a hab fan, Slaf and Evans for Miller is a steal. Def would jump on that. I'd consider Suzuki for Miller but idk if I'd do that. Suzuki for Petterson for sure Id do

I have been seeing online that contract talks have slowed with Rantanen. I highly expect him to be signed eventually, but it would be really fun to see both what the ea sim would give him for a contract and what it would take for teams to trade for him.

Rantanen is the one X factor in the league.... we all know he can play up to the best player in the league conversation, but he doesn't when his line is all healthy. 🤷 if I'm the coach, I'm demanding greatness from him consistently. But that's a great idea. He deserves a stout contract, but will Colorado be able to give it to him?

As a Stars fan Harley is staying he's turned to a more shutdown kind of style. I think Stankoven, Emil Hemming, and a 2025 1st is a lot more intriguing as we have the forward depth. Also Senguin being on the IR and Benn's huge contract ending helps with cap space

@ I'm iffy on Stankoven. He's got the puck skills and grind to his game but i think what wasn't exposed in junior leagues that's now obvious is his size as he's barley able to get good shots which is why he has had such a bad time scoring. I like him and his potential but Id much rather have JT Miller on my team both short and long term

Seattle and 'Nucks fan. I 100% would do that trade as a Kraken fan, and not in a trillion years as a Nucks fan LOL. I am a little biased because for years (4 years now), I've said Brandon Hagel is the most underrated player in the league. But I think that was super funny to see a 1-for-1 with him, and actually be fully 100% okay with the trade. Probably the the four worst trades for the Canucks (outside of that Kraken one, holy lord) would be the Penguins one (that one is vomit worthy, my GOD Cole!), Flames one is garbage (Parekh isn't NHL ready and doesn't look great at the NHL level at all, Sharangovich is a middle six winger at best), the Ducks one and the Preds one (the Canucks have zero need for Skjei and O'Reilly is old and doesn't fit the play style of Vancouver). Didn't like the Blackhawks one that much, the Senators one was horrendous, Leafs one was also atrocious, Vegas trade is useless because Theodore is a LD and Hughes plays top pair. Blues would be too nice for the Canucks, same with NYI (Dobson x Hughes is a dream top pair for some), the Oilers one was literally just a meme lol. I think of the legitimate ones that could happen, the Hagel trade 1 for 1, the Boldy trade which doesn't seem likely, and the Florida one (my personal favourite) would be the three best returns. The Devils trade makes the most sense in real life, however, I can't see the Canucks taking Nemec over Luke Hughes if he's on the table, regardless of handedness. The Sharks one wasn't too bad, Eklund has looked great at the NHL level, legitimate playmaker. Will Smith, on the other hand, has looked rather rough. The Canucks are trying to compete right now, so any trade that handicaps their positional needs that would come from a trade like this (basically a decent 2C or someone who can play center) would be super beneficial. Defensemen above the age of 26 and under the age of 21 are pretty much uselss for the Canucks unless the name is Luke Hughes, who is 21 anyway lmao. Cool video, Cole! The find trade feature is actually really underrated, so nice to see it being used!
