Yes Jay!!! These are the speakers you need!!! These, and also their smaller siblings, the Evolution One TX-E1TX, are "Phenomenal Speakers." I even really love their top of the line stand mount speakers, which are absolutely insane sounding, as well. TAD speakers in general are superb, IMHO. I heard these speakers at a show once and thought....if I ever hit the lottery, I would definitely spend the big-bucks for these. I though they were best of show.

Having heard these TAD's multiple times I can honestly say the only thing about them I find unacceptable is their price tag. They seem to play every genre at a high level. They're also a bit of a chameleon and they're source dependent. The minute you think they're bottom heavy when you play something delicate and refined they sound delicate and refined. The minute you think they're a bit too refined they pin your pants to your leg. As soon as you think they're too revealing on another recording they'll be warm and cozy. These speakers are extremely revealing of the components preceding them. They do need amps that will give you a tight grip on the low end. These speaker I've found, are very natural sounding. I hate them because I'll never be able to afford a pair.

Don't despair, in a couple of decades they will be accessible to you in the second hand market. Unfortunately, you and them will get older and what once seemed an exciting thing,I you finally get them will become a trophy over the mantlepiece collecting dust. Ahrrrr😖

They're priced between the Wilson Alexia V and Alexx V, so aren't ridiculously pricy at $80K unless they've gone up a lot.

I loved these speakers even many years ago. those days these arent as expensive now as i can remember. My god the low end on this thing unbelieveble even tho we are listening through a simple recording. Very tight and detailed low end.

These speakers are very nice. I lived with them for a year and they are very source dependent and the tweeter can be fatiguing. They are cable dependent. Probably so accurate that they require perfect matching and set up. You should definitely get a pair as your speciality seems to be matching systems!

What you call fatiguing I call revealing and detailed. I have a Be tweeter in my current speaker and no speaker moving forward could not have it. There is a reason most companies are using Be tweeters.

Probably the best speaker in the world. No sound of their own just pure output. Match them with the electronics of your liking and they will blow your mind. Nothing compares. I would not opt for the TAD electronics but that is just me. I like a little magic in my music not nessecarily pure perfection.

Wow...the best sounding recording of all your recent speakers. The TAD's are Fuller, deeper, clearer and more punch than the Magicos...I think side by side would be an embarrassment. Would love to own either pair however but the ported TAD's just come alive vs the congested (due to fully enclosed) Magicos. I would be great to compare the TAD amps to your Boulders as well. Andrew Jones creation. I was going to try and get me a pair of those. I've heard both those and the CR1's as well. Both are great choices. I heard both of those along with the Sonus Faber Flagship at the same dealer. He also had Aerial Acoustics 20T at the same location for an event. But I ended up going with the Aerial Acoustics 20T flagship model instead. Too bad they discontinued it. The Custom Raven R2 ribbon tweeter with 13 pound motors is sublime. Arguably the best tweeter ever produced.

Latest version is not done by Andrew. Many Yeats ago since Andrew stopped working at pioneer. Latest version is completely revamped. And sounds amazing compared to the old one. I had the model below it. Couldn't fit the big one here. Amazing speaker's. Do miss them sometimes.

Jay you should find out if they come with grills and if a tweeter gets blown do you have to pay $10k and find out the manufacturer will not send them back after repair, you'll need to pick them up yourself.

Big speakers give a big sound. Sense of size and scale is an important criterion of realism of sound reproduction that is largely ignored when you ask people. Yet when a survey is conducted for "best sound at the show" it's the large and huge speakers that almost always win.

these are brilliant, but for my budget, i go Grahm or Spendor... i listen mostly to acoustic music and piano and guitar sound perfect on both Grahm and Spendor speakers... my daughter is proficient on guitar and a world class concert piano player, so i know what those instruments sound like in good hands. Still, if i had an extra 200K I MIGHT look at the TAD.s, but would likely just get a new piano!
