This is a detailed Taekwondo Kickboxing tutorial for the basic "Round Kick" Side Kick, Hook Kick, Hand Position (not to be confused with the circular version of the Round Kick a.k.a. "Full Roundhouse Kick"), effective in Kickboxing, MMA & Olympic style competition.
Training to keep your guard while kicking
How to train your hands to be steady while throwing kicks, especially front leg kicks. Front leg front kick, front leg roundhouse, front leg side kick, front leg hook kick, front leg ex kick. This can also work for rear leg kicks, but often this goes for element of surprise and is combined with front leg kicks.

I appreciate all of your hard work on these videos. It's eye-opening to see you discuss the kinesiology, biomechanics, and intent of each punch, kick, etc. Not only are you saying that proper positioning is strategic in a fight as well as more effective. Very often hands are used to initiate the force transfer from the trunk to the leg, by using the arms to guide the movement of the trunk. At the same time arms often counter balance the kick. Shoulder strengthening plays an important role in controlling the position of the arms.

There is nothing wrong with the supporting leg being turned out. If anything it adds to distance and force transfer through the body.

ElasticSteel is based on Kinesiology and Biomechanics of the kick, rather then on any specific martial arts style.

this is the samething im been doing for several years of training MA, LESSON LEARNED ON THIS VIDEO IS "if you kick then you drop hand down, most experience mma fighters normally step forward and do straight punch, or jab straight to the face followed by any kick or multiple kick. even though the kick is powerful but one hand blocking is not good enough to counter the attack

Do you think the reason we drop our hands when we kick is because it lowers the centre of gravity and makes it easier to balance? Keeping the arms up probably requires more balance, that's why it would surprise people. I wonder if kicking with hands overhead, or maybe hugging a medicine ball, might help with that?

what was the last thing you did before this happen. before you do explosive kicks, do stretching first, (very important)secondly before you do explosive kicks, try to do roundhouse kick not explosive kick, slow roundhouse until your leg is warm up and stretch properly. lastly try to wear cycling short and groin support to support the groin area. it the same thing like wearing an elbow pad to heal an elbow injury. but don't over use it because you will suffer serious groin issues

Does it hurt if you try to sprint fast? I had something similar and it went away by having a break from all sports. I just avoided doing anything too fast.
