Why am I in love with Taekwondo kicks? Despite being 3kyu from Shotokan. The kicks in Taekwondo look more fluid and explosive.

Interesting vid - great to see the collab brewing. Do you do WT(F) or ITF based/affiliated Taekwondo? Would be interesting to do a kata comparison/expose the Karate guys to Taekwondo Tul/Hyung/Poomsae/Patterns - see if/where there's cross over/similar themes. Especially with the ITF Taekwondo katas. Would be interesting to see yours and their interpretations of the movements (bunkai/oyo/hae sul/boon hae) Reference: 1st Dan black belt in ITF based Taekwondo (not affiliated) and currently Green belt in Okinawan Goju Ryu karate

Taekwondo wins when it comes to kicks in my opinion, but then that is its primary focus. Karate on the other hand seems more practical, since you have all the punches and throws too. I'm not a martial artist though, so certainly not the one to judge.

Taekwondo also use the hook kick except we follow through with it at least that’s how I was taught not snapping. You should guys should’ve added some ax kicks.
