The "turning people into trees" tee-shirt Taemin wore for this is quite interesting. The idea of this phrase is also a key theme runs throughout the Bible where people can be equated to trees, if you take the scriptures in their original ancient context. The thought is connected to the tree motif/metaphors that run throughout the Old and New Testaments: In Genesis 2:9, God creates trees to sprout from the ground and later also creates mankind (the meaning of the name "Adam") from the dust of the ground; the two main trees of Eden: the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and bad (a much more precise and accurate interpretation than "evil"). Then we have the "tree" that Christ was nailed to. These are just a few of among many other tree metaphors in scripture that can be linked to people. The basic gist of it is that like trees, people can be fruitful, or not; people can be rooted in their faith, or uprooted; to be fertile is to be rooted and to be infertile is to be uprooted. Another example is the idea that Gentiles are grafted into the root of Abraham' through the vine of Jesus, etc. The tree of good and bad illustrates the fact that people can be either good and/or bad. People lost their right to be immortal when they disobeyed YHWH, a free-will choice out of ignorance, and got kicked out of the garden (God's temple and therefore sacred space). They were no longer able to partake of the tree of life, rather they would age and die. Christ's death on the Cross (made from a tree) and subsequent resurrection would be the way for people to regain Eden and, therefore, the tree of life -- immortality. The more extensive and precise theology would involve way too much space to explain here, but just food for thought.

Although many were shocked by this title and found it cringe-worthy, the lyrics are most definitely not. They have a lesson to share that many miss because they don't bother with the seriousness of those lyrics. Taemin is known for his deep philosophical concepts and multi-layered meanings (often Christian in nature) hidden within his lyrics. What is Taemin's "rizz?" It's the fact that he will rise above the ridiculousness of this world and stay true to himself. Having been a SHAWOL and Jjakkoong (Taemin fan) for several years now, according to how I read the lyrics, it's my opinion that Taemin may also think the word "rizz" is ridiculous, and he uses it to demonstrate how emblematic it is of the world today where we hide ourselves behind masks and fake/made-up words, giving ourselves a false sense of bravado & charisma while exploiting and "holding onto each others' weaknesses" via social media. For those participating in this "game" of exposing each other, making false claims, and name-calling they gain the opportunity to elevate themselves to a false superiority all the while creating emotional "pain, pain, pain" and suffering to others -- a typical ploy and practice of "Abraxas". The "crowd" piles on the victims like a feeding frenzy, pushing them out (exposed, threatening their livelihoods & safety, etc.) causing the victims to "fall over (capitulate) easily". What exactly, Taemin asks, "is the gain, gain, gain" to all of this? Meanwhile Taemin is hovering above all that chaos looking down and watching it all play out; "the reality of words all distorted". The "whispers" (rumors) on the internet "hide the truth." They will "grow" and destroy people's lives -- exactly the desire of "Abraxas". Those who participate in this practice are all the "same, same, same" doing it just for the fun of it because it's all "fabricated games, games, games" to them. Sadly, Taemin and SHINee as a whole, are all to well familiar with this cancer. Taemin wants no part of it. It hits too close to home for him. He concludes with: Yeah, so many words, Dizzy and disordered (Alright). Don’t really care. Everything’s so ridiculous. Yeah, I’m not interested In such a good lie. I’ll only listen closer To my heart Too bad those who play these games, games, games don't stop to think, "what if this happens to me?" Would they still think it's all just "games, games, games" then?
