I've planned about making this video since June and it sat heavy on my heart for so long. However, when the time actually came, I kept putting it off. I think it's because a part of me didn't really want to face reality - can any of you relate to this? At the back of my head I KNEW how hard it's been for Taeyong, but at the same time I also didn't want to actually face or confront it in detail. I wanted it to stay a vague image, because looking at it closely made me so upset. But I realized that whilst we could close an image, click away from an article, block a user; Taeyong couldn't. This WAS his life the entire year. His haters, his injuries...If anything, us not talking about it would just be downplaying how much he had to sacrifice. In his Vlives, he talked about his back pain multiple times. Every time he would do it in such a reassuring and nonchalant way, so when I watched the Vlives I didn't really take notice either. Now looking back, he was just putting on a brave face for us. And amidst that, he pulled off the iconic scene in MAW's MV where he was hanging off the chandelier. How much must his back have hurt? Same thing goes for SuperM's MV, where he said he couldn't physically for DAYS after filming. The Vlive clips I inserted in the video actually break my heart. You could clearly see he was not doing okay. Yet SM just kept pushing and pushing him, and he even had to go film Yu Hee-yeol's Sketchbook just shortly after Ruby's death. I watched an analysis video of Taeyong's dance style, and it pointed out something else I never noticed. You know the "stiff", "maniac" style he's always praised for? The analysis said it might just be because his back+neck hurt so much that he got used to moving stiffly in those areas to minimize the pain. He is always showing us his best side, giving love so generously to the point where he forgets to leave some for himself. Imagine the burden he has as the leader (with 23 members), the center, main rapper + dancer, and also having to compose on top of that. As someone who's followed NCT since debut days, I don't think I'll ever forget the harsh comments that were constantly thrown to him. He's not even my ult bias, but I admire his strength and courage so much. P.S. Happy New Year everyone💕

Thing is he's got a herniated disc in his spine. This is a chronic illness. It's going to be an off and on again thing for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately I little bit of time off will help alleviate it but I'm not going to be surprised if he needs to take time off again.

I have been a fan of kpop for a few years now and an NCTZEN for around a year. I don't think that people realise how hard it is to be an idol on it's own. You have so many responsibilities and hardships. Being in more than one group is even more tough coz you have to do double the work. Now imagine being the leader of 23 members. Lee Taeyong is honestly one of the strongest if not the strongest idol out there. Caring for and showing so much love towards the members, guiding them, teaching them and taking care of himself too while entertaining us, the fans. He does vlives when he probably wants to rest, he gives us advice and shows us love, he learns other languages for us. About the "scandal" I honestly think it's unfair. Everyone makes mistakes and it was years ago. I'm very glad that it's sorted out. Anyways. Taeyong, leader of 23 members, leader of NCT, you have done so well. We hope that you get well soon and that you will be able to rest a lot. You're very important to us and you're special. We love you! You have NCTzens always. #TAEYONG is one of the most interesting Kpop artists with Bigbang G-Dragon and Mamamoo Hwasa. His creativity, stage presence, expressive performances, rap making is unique and magnetic. His rap , voice tone and dance moves embody the concept of song. He never delivers the same thing always giving us another colour while keeping his signature. I'm starting to believe his hiatus is not only due to a physical injury. In his message to his fans on bubble or another platform, he spoke about gaining weight and that he needed a break. I hope it is not a burnout due to immense pressure and under appreciation by his agency. The SMTOWN live show was filmed long ago, before all the awards shows and events Taeyong took part in. I do not understand why he was not featured in the theme song of the event, he could have been sitting or why he was not featured on the tickets they published or drew or what ever? NCT without TAEYONG would not be NCT. He is the Soul, the Heart, the Face, the essence of the group. His part on SuperM Tiger Inside has been hailed by many music critics as one of 2020 most iconic moment in Kpop. I wonder if SM realizes they are lucky to have him on their team. He is a treasure. And even though the members who covered him on the Beyond Live and SMTOWN show did a good job, you could feel his absence, it's not the same. His stage presence has no equal.

Taeyong went through the equivalent of a witch hunt because he called someone "fat" when he was 13 years old in a private forum where even the girl didn't know abt till Taeyong's blackmailer told her abt 5 years later. kpop comunity and nct fans were sending him and his family death threats over just that. I can't believe how horrible and traumatising it was for him but he still worked for the group and helped push it into 2020 he went to the company meeting alone\heard the company's ultimatums alone, he helped choreograph and direct the MVs and songs, he spent nights at the studio after a full day of practice and still this fandom doesn't appreciate him, it needs to change

I'm quite new to the NCT fandom but honest to God I didn't know it was like this. Before I became a fan of the group, I heard about Taeyong's "scandals" but I did the research and didn't just go off of the rumours. I have such a huge amount of respect for Taeyong and all that he does. He has so much responsibility for the group, and he pushes himself all the time trying to make himself better, even if it isn't good for his health, like for example the moves he has to do that hurt his back? He goes through so much and people need to understand that before being an Idol, he is a Human! He's a human being with a heart, and feelings that can be hurt. He's a human being who's experienced many things and been given hate even though he's done nothing wrong. Taeyong is my bias of NCT along with Johnny. And he is one of the reasons I decided to Stan NCT. I watched a Kpop vine video, and there was a clip of Taeyong taking care of his members and I just had to check out the group. I mean, if their Leader cares so much for them and worries and wants to give them all the love they deserve than damn everyone who hates on him. I am shocked by that hypocritical attitude of pointing out when NOBODY is exempt from mistakes (and less for something that has already been debunked), also the disrespectful in the comments of the "fans" having an ulterior motive against him in his words. Taeyong is such a hard working person and has been fighting since day 1 Taeyong has always been my inspiration and has been since NCT debuted, he taught me to never give up, I mean without him I wouldn't be where I am today, a dancer 😁 Whenever i felt like giving up, I would think, what would Taeyong do, keep going, he works a lot more than I do and still manages to keep going, he's amazing, perfect, in a Taeyong sort of way. Love your video so much, I was tearing up watching this. I already knew that Taeyong has been through a lot already this year, but this video hit me hardly that I cannot handle it. All the things that Taeyong has been through are just too much to handle for one person. Being a Kpop fan for so many years, I have never seen such a strong idol/artist like him, to me he is one of the strongest if not he is the strongest in the industry for me. However, not everybody think this way, surprisingly Taeyong's anits are mostly NCTzen and Army. I was so angry with NCTzen during BeyondLIve, when SM announced about Taeyong's absence due to injuries, instead of worrying they thought that this was a good opportunity for other members to shine ( by what using the leader's line during his hiatus? Nobody would want it, and they know that no matter how good they did nobody can have the same impact as Taeyong ).NCTzen were so happy celebrating and happy for other members, but they never thought of how bad Taeyong would feel for not being able to participate in this concert. NCTzen made me feel like SHIT honestly, NOBODY CAN KILL TAEYONG'S PART LIKE TAEYONG ONLY TAEYONG CAN KILL HIS OWN PART. Like no offense, you want your bias to shine, so he didn't shine enough in your eyes? You think he cannot shine brightly so you blame this to Taeyong? You guys sound so insecure like you don't trust your faves in what he is capable of doing enough. NCTzen always put all the hate they have to Taeyong, sometimes acted as if you love him and is worried for his health and condition, meanwhile you are also praying for his downfall. To me, even back when I was just a nonfan, I feel like he earned his center spot fair and square. He’s talented, charming, stage presence over-flowing, ppl Want to see him. Now as I get more and more fascinated by him, and see all the pain and hardship he has to suffer just bcuz those the lines and spotlight that I, a NONFAN, see perfectly clear how well-deserved they are, I feel a sting in my heart. As an INFJ (he has the same personality if i don't remember bad) every emotion hits hard. Really hard. In the surface maybe we see his smiling face but i know that he was suffering, his eyes were losing bright in every Vlive and his body more and more stiff.... I'm so sorry that he had to go through this... I know from second hand the hurt that having herniated back produces... Because my grandma and cousin had it and they screamed from pain every time they moved, breathed, and everything. And to imagine that he had to go though it and still be a perfect idol, dancer DO THAT CHERRY BOMB DANCE AND KICK IT AND EVERY NCT AND SUPERM PROMOTIONS LIKE NOTHING?! I seriously don't understand the people saying Taeyong should be kicked out of the group. He even apologized for missing out in group activities, and the whole scandal, even though he did literally nothing wrong. Taeyong is one of the most hard-working leaders in Kpop, and he has worked super hard to get where he is. I started seriously listening to NCT in 2020 and I slowly started to notice Taeyong and his off cam moments are what sold me to stan NCT because he was in the group, but the comments of the fandom and the utter lack of respect towards the group's leader is why I opted to never refer to myself as an nctzen. I love the boys but the fandom is not it for me and so I decided to label myself as a tyongf cause it is the only way I feel I can give Taeyong strength and he needs it. He has dealt with hate from the moment he debuted till now and he is admirable in his way of dealing with it. One thing I am grateful for is that he finally took a break after yearsand years of giving and giving to a fandom that looks for any opportunity to bring him down. It was a short break but I hope he found peace and a moment to breathe. He has done alot and that to me is enough. He does not need to give 120% anymore because even his 50% is enough, we know how talented you are, though knowing his character, he always feels the need to offer the very best of himself and Taeyong I will appreciate any kind of you that you put forward and be vocal of how you are doing well. I was never one to comment and has always been a passive fan but I love you too much to not be active. So Taeyong stay healthy, be it physically or mentally, let it be your priority. As a Tyongf I will always support you.

I just got to know NCT but I know that TY does his best all the time and that he's the perfect leader and mom (as he calls himself) for this huge family which would be not the same without him!
