Just what I need after a really stressful week. Chest pain inducing week! Thank you. 😊😊

All I can say is you caught more fish in one afternoon than I have in a week of fishing. Love the videos and im trying to collect all your books

I don't see them about in the charity shops now,I reckon they are all getting snapped up.I guess they might be in specialist booksellers or Ebay.

Lovely Roach, Tench and a very handsome Carp. Great skills on display with that light tackle and match rod Graeme 👍

Now that one was entertaining. Sick and tired of carp, carp, carp. Thanks,maybe more like this ?
@TAFishingАй бұрын
I know what you mean...I like a bit of Carp fishing but its virtually impossible not to catch them. I think that's why I am enjoying filming all the other random subjects that I try to put up on a Wednesday . I'm off down Wiltshire in 10 minutes to film old planes.Something a bit different for me.

The big G! 😎 Always teaching, most of us here, I suspect, are seasoned anglers who watch the guy, because he reminds us of the joy in angling, and that we should get out fishing more ourselves...marvellous stuff ❤ Nice big lob under a bobber by those lillies for the two pounders Grahame? 🐟

15 yrs old I soon 8 carp under the flyover at paddington warwick avenue. I ran home and had 5Ib line on a Michell reel. I changed from school clothes ran and grabbed 3 slices of bread from the bread bin my mum was chasing me for a thick ear. I went freeline I couldnt get my tacklebox my mum was so angry so I threw in bread crust, then suck noises from why down the canel. so I put on a lump of crust let it sweep round the side of the moored boats. Bang my drag was set to minimum so this thing ripped and went straight to cut me off on a rudder. Im 50 now and that fish when we look at the photo, I had to run home to get a camara is easy a 30Ib and there was no internet then. When you fish I believe you have a magic moment between you and the fish, everyone has one story. 🙏

Variation on a theme, rather than using pre shotted rigs, I've been using pole floats on my main line weighted with matching Olivettes set just above a micro swivel, with a lighter hook link below. Its a great method, but with my variation it saves the problem of knot snagging in the rings. 10ft through action pellet waggler in the tighter swims with overhanging branches, 12/14ft match rod on more open swims. Loved the variety of species, quality fishing.

I wish I could do more mixed species fishing,but everywhere just seems stuffed with Carp.

I can remember catching lots of tench on groundbait paste back in the 1960’s
@TAFishingАй бұрын
Paste baits were popular then,in fact the very first Totally Awesome film we put up on the site was about using hot water to make trout pellets into a paste. I used to do really well with it.

lol. Putty. As kid always had to replace windows. I guess cricket balls and tennis balls in garden did not work out too well always. Could not stop cricket so cut grass at neighbors for pocket money to get glass and putty. lol. You brought back memories! And great fishing as always!

That's why I enjoy doing the older topics,there are still a few of us left who were in that era of 50's upwards .

I absolutely love that phrase: "I'm not an expert. I am just fishing." Read: "I'm not an expert. I have just been fishing for the last 65 years."

Back in 87 I was learning from a old fella while fishing on a small pond,he was catching we wasn't, so he showed us young lads what he was using,he was using bread paste with honey mixed in and bread flake,he dipped both in a small jar of honey like we do now,one float and one ledger,win win always. Great video as always ..but to many adverts... man does it p me off.

KZbin premium.. I got rid of paramount+ and Spotify. It works out cheaper and no adverts on KZbin. 🤩
@jonathanluce9130Ай бұрын
I've done that before, good time saver not having to mess about with shotting.
@7magicnumberАй бұрын
Graeme, i share your pain with the eye sight ect, however earlier this year i had a go with the pellet waggler. the floats are all weighted so you don't need to, also the balsa tops are an insert to the weighted bottom. so if you need you can put the 5g top on a 4g weight when you need shot down by the hook.
@drtonyrotherham2904Ай бұрын
Great video Graeme. Nice to see a program without Carp.
@TAFishingАй бұрын
They got me in the end !....I wish we had the mixed species of fifty years ago but alas they have been reduced by a variety of problems. Probably won't ever come back unless someone starts restocking programmes.
@drtonyrotherham2904Ай бұрын
@@TAFishing Yes. Sadly I have to agree. The mixed fisheries are few and far between.

Alternatively you could have used a cheap 5 metre whip. I use one for most of my 'lazy' float fishing.

Haha, I thought that tench had you to be honest Graeme, some really nice clean Roach and a nice skimmer. Great to finish off with a carp, have you ever tied an elastic to the main line?
@TAFishingАй бұрын
No,not tied the elastic,I prefer the reel's drag,I don't seem to have any power over what the fish wants to do when using a pole and elastic.
@WalsallgrowerАй бұрын
@@TAFishing Yes that is true, using an elastic does feel like cheating, playing a big fish is more satisfying when on the bank. You are my weekend go to film Graeme, thank you very much sir. 🙏

Surprised you caught anything, what with wetting your landing net before you actually needed it. LOL. I'm the opposite, if I did that it would merely hasten the inevitable blank! Nice mixed session!

Nor spearheaded it is common bullrush not to be confused with Reed mace which people think is bullrush

pole rigs come in 4m lengths so they work with a 4m whip , a lot cheaper than a pole
