Hi, in this video I'll try to fix another mechanical chronograph watch. This is non-working, rusty, and needed small repairs, as usual for me.
I like tinkering with cheap vintage watches. But I always face parts availability issues. Sometimes replacement parts are not available, or even when I can buy them, the cost may be unreasonable.
This movement is Valjoux 7750. I think this is the most tinkerer-friendly chronograph movement. Since this is a very popular movement, there is a lot of good information on the Internet. Although the watch/movement is a bit expensive, we can buy replacement parts easily and reasonably. Also, there are a lot of Chinese "clone" movements. If we don't mind (I mind though), we can replace broken movement with clone movement cheaply.
This is a kind of part 1 of the video series. I managed to fully disassemble, clean, lubricate, and re-assemble. However, this still has some issues. I'll do it all over and try to make this better later soon. If you liked this video, like, comment, and subscribe to my channel!

Very enjoyable. A good tutorial for me. I can understand what you are doing and the comments give an additional explanation. How did you remove the stuck screw from the spring barrel? Did you replace with a new spring? Well worth subscribing to you.

Thanks. I broke the screw head with a drill. I used a new spring barrel complete temporarily but I ordered a barrel arbor and new spring to restore it original as possible as I can.

Nice video. I am surprised that you didn't replace the gasket or at least lube it. I thought that was done every time a watch got opened. How do you determine when to do that?

Thanks. I actually did. The tube gasket was unreusable so I replaced with new one. The case gascket was still kind of usable so I lubed it and put it again.
