Tag Heuer Skipper re-issued for the Carrera Glassbox Series with Calibre TH20-06 Movement

Here is my review of the TAG Heuer Carrera Skipper reissue newly released in 2023. The new Skipper is from Tag Heuer's new Glassbox Carreras with 39mm case with the sapphire crystal. These are 100 Meter Water resistant and incredibly versatile . I review the watch, movement, show it off on wrist with Artem Straps. My most recent addition is the 2023 TAG HEUER Glass Box tri-compax with a vertical clutch and a column wheel in house movement & 39 mm at that. It runs about 2 to 3 seconds per day fast. Uber smooth winding . Fine vid!

My goodness, it's a stunning watch from Tag. They certainly are lifting their game with the new Carreras. It's taking a lot of effort to source this beauty as it seems to be in very short supply. No surprise there with a watch that will certainly become a collector's piece. 🤩

I was lucky to buy the skipper watch when on holiday in St Martin over Christmas really pleased with it it’s not an over the top statement watch in my opinion

I have a small wrist and I bought the black reverse panda, but tried on all variants, and I find these watches to wear differently depending on where the outer graduations are because that’s what reads as what would otherwise be the traditional bezel.

I recently purchased the Reverse Panda as well. The tachymeter ring on the reverse does have it appear smaller when looking side by side on these 2 watches. Being the same size, they wear the same. The leather on the reverse panda is the best I’ve worn.

Yes, they definitely wear the same. I agree with the leather on the black strap; so supple and soft. Having said that I asked for and received an additional non-rally brown strap with cream stitching (to pick up on the lume color) and it works so well too. The only downside is the brown strap isn’t as soft, but still very good quality.

@@MistaRhoi Take a look at the accessory and straps section on Tag’s website. They just released more straps for the Glassbox Carreras including a gray rally strap that has the similar feel, and gives it a nice vintage look.

Great reissue of the skipper! Any idea if we are able to fit the original skipper's deployment buckle with the loopless Artem strap?

They are knocking it out of the ballpark with these Glassbox Carreras. Unfortunately the Skipper deployant only works on the Tag straps. Check out the accessories section on Tag’s website by the way. They added some really nice strap options for these watches.

A TH Connected E4 42mm in stainless steel with this particular face from Watchmaker would give it a very similar look (except the 2 up/down button design) 😉

Hodinkee Skipper was a limited edition of 125 pieces. No more of that version were produced or released. This initial release had so many manufactured and allotted in the first year exclusive to boutiques. This year, more will be released and Authorized Dealers will be getting more to sell as well.
