Eternal Wakestone is a reward for getting the key after killing her, so you won't have the chance to do the riddle unless you are in NG+... besides you can dupe the Eternal Wakestone endlessly in the boarder town for 30k and it will be fully functional.

Pro tip: In the castle, right before climbing up and getting to the cyclops, there is a little room off the the right. This room has a tome needed for the sorcerer and mage meister quests, and a key to the Vernworth castle vault, which is loaded with loot and a box of 20,000 gold.

I had to use that and backtrack through the starter area to find the one I picked up first while constantly alt-tab'ing. This part was such a pain that after it I just went back to killing stuff as I could not be bothered to continue her questline.

Another tip: You don't have to follow that route to go find the shrine. You can grab onto the sphynx before she leaves and she will take you right to it. Just leave your portcrystal at the mountain shrine for the chest. You can release her so you don't drain stamina since she flys straight 95% of the way there, just make sure to grab back onto her once she heads into Thunderclap Cavern

SphinxMother, SphinxFather, and SphinxParent are all viable pawns to offer to the sphinx for the Riddle of Wisdom; I think any will work, but there may be some fiddly-ness with recognizing the moniker as valid, and the only way to be sure that any of them will work is to use an official-Capcom pawn. Sort pawns by Username and a blank Username will be a Capcom-made pawn. I was able to complete the riddle with SphinxMother.

You won’t fail the quest if you can’t find your first seeker coin. After searching for hours I just couldn’t find it. I came back in defeat, but I was surprised. Instead of failing, I just didn’t receive the reward for the fifth chest! I travelled on the Sphinx to her next location. I only received 100,000 g exactly but she let me continue the quest. Edit: So since I solved 5 riddles in total (4/5 at her first location + the relocation riddle), I thought that the answer for the total riddles solved would change from 6 to 5 for me. That wasn’t the case. She words it weird but she doesn’t want to know how many you SOLVED, she wants to know HOW MANY there were in total thus far. Therefore it’s still 6. Hope that helps If you do fail the part about how many riddles so far, the quest will be over.

Oh also for those who forgot where you picked up the first seekers token. Make the riddle quest active and go pay a seer 50 gold in the main city. She will give you a hint to find it. Update: as of recently after the update iv noticed that the hint provided may not be accurate and she may give you a basic respons. If this is the case use a forgery token, this works as well, just remember to save as I tested it out and it does run the chance of the sphinx turning hostile or not giving the next riddle.

Seeker's Tokens - 2 in Melve itself. 1 - all the way up top the broken down tower with balista. Right behind the balista. 2 - the other is in between balista tower and house. There are wooden beams that you can jump through. Near the river at the bottom practically straight behind the house

2:19 top for anyone that wants to kill that drake. There are 2 VERY BIG AND STRONG ballistae at the top of the castle. They do alot of dmg but get destroyed by the drake if you cant stunlock it by knocking it out of the air. 5-6 charged shots killed it for me.

Apparently those murals contain tips on how to actually defeat the sphinx without the arrow. According to another comment I found you have to fight her without your pawns (put them on wait) and no matter what do NOT hit her head, or her chest during the fight. Wings, legs, and back are all fine, but no attacking the head or chest. I haven't confirmed this, but it may just be better to use the arrow tbh.

As a minor tip for pawns and pathways that are intakill for them, have them stay then continue to traverse once you've made it through command your pawns to return while looking away, they'll just tp behind you stress free.

Honestly, you are better off doing the Sphinx quests at a later level, after you have already discovered all the key areas / cities / villages in a natural way through the story missions. Trying to do all of this at an early level straight out of the first village in the game would be a nightmare for several reasons. The Sphinx quests are A LOT more fun when you are at a high enough level where you already have several portcrystals already set up at key locations and you are at a high enough level to get into fights with all the monsters on the way to the two Sphinx lairs (resulting in a nice amount of experience points and loot). Trying to out run all the monsters with a low level character is eventually going to fail (some of the monsters in this game will chase after the player without stopping). Also, Trying to get to Bakbattahl at a low level on foot in order to set up a portacrystal there to do the vase riddle there would be a freaking nightmare for a low level (keep in mind there is NO Ox Cart to BakBattahl when first arriving at that area because of Coral Snakes situation, something a low level player wouldn't be able to fix). Also, the huge monsters on the way to the second Sphinx lair (specifically the highly aggressive Minotaurs and the Chimera) with that horribly dark and rainy weather that starts up automatically on that route which makes it hard to see would be freaking nightmare for a low level. TLDR: Doing the Sphinx quests later in the game after the player is strong enough would be the intelligent thing to do.

it's not true that you can only defeat the sphinx by using the unmaking arrow on her wing. the mural on the vase is a clue, there are wounds all over her body but not her face or chest. as long as you attack only her heavily jeweled body parts (wings, tail, legs, etc) until they become visibly wounded, you can defeat her without wasting your unmaking arrow.

I actually got to the second temple from the south by climbing an enormous mountain and going through Thunderclap cave, and by the time I got to it it was pouring rain and pitch black. At the top of the mountain, after traversing some ridiculous terrain in pitch black weather, I had to fight a Minotaur and immediately after that, a Chimera, just to get to the Temple itself. That temple in pitch black is terrifying, especially when you don't know if this...thing, is gonna slowly lurk out of the dark

Got really unlucky in that the last quest she gave was the one with the arrow as the reward. Fortunately Tag's advice on changing into Archer gear before doing the final really helped. Had to run over to the chest, open it, and then equip the arrow before turning around and shooting her. Was just a second away from her leaving, but got it done!

For me, the first token was easy to remember. It was in the harpy's nest where a combo of goblins and harpy first appeared in the starting zone. It was memorable because it taught me about the sleep mechanic and how to deal with fliers while my party is made up of only melee.

Their is a little side quest/escort mission that took me here and he gives you a jey to a room behind a crate you can break which gives a really nice early duo spear if you haven't gotten or seen it yet. Has a permanent fire buff on it

I only had 2 but didnt remeber, what i did, was not start the rumination riddle (and thus not start the 7 day countdown) andlooked up locations for the seeker tokens, and just went down the list of ones i havent (skipped) ones i might have (and checked them out) and then ones that idefinitely did (marked them to go back to once i start the quest). For me it was easy beause only 2 spots could have been it, but i ended up getting like 20 tokens checking different possible spots before i found the two lol

Save at an inn prior to accepting that riddle. Get over to starting area, use a map that has all locations, scour all the tokens locations, 7 days is a long time, track all the spots and if you can’t find it, load from inn, start at the last spot you checked and continue until you find it.

Just finished this and the hardest part was figuring out how to fire a bow lmao. Haven’t played archery up to this point so she almost got away. Got a clutch kill though. Also, if you don’t have archer simply do NOT approach her after your final chest is done. You can leave and come back with archer equipped to trigger her leaving.

Just in case you didn’t know. There is a seeker token on the right side edge on the grass. Pretty much where you throw the man over the cliff. Also two treasure chests up on the hill behind you. Also one over the cliff down a bit drop. Plus another across the water fall.

ppl report that if you go to Battahl region you get lock out of some side quests including those tied to Ulrike, so I wouldnt recomend to do it all before you can go there(or are done with side quests)

Finding my first seeker's token was the easiest riddle for me. It's the first ruins you go past on the way to Melve. The name 'Finder's Token' was also pretty funny.

I found a wild skip to get to the sphinx from the Illdoer's resting place. Alot of parkouring to leave that area and it puts you right at the sphyinx stair case without having to fight the golems or ogres.... but it's not at all easier, infact i'd say this guide's route is better. Just found it funny that it dropped me right infront of the sphinx and I had no idea i was actually progressing "backwards"

I literally managed to find the Finder's token. It was by the Riftstone of the Straightforward for me. I just had to scour nearly all of Vermund and went from 22 Tokens to 56 of them. This took way more than 7 in-game days. Thank god that there really isn't a time limit as long as you don't speak to her until you have it in your inventory! I also got so unlucky as to have the Riddles questions be my last riddles. So I couldn't get the Unmaking arrow beforehand. I hand to spend Wyrmcrystals at the Dragonforged to get it.

If you are in new game+, just a tip. Don't pick up any Seeker's token (if you still have them on the map) you find when you start. Take the quest from the Sphinx and then when you pick one up, you get the item to complete it. Most probably know this after 2+ weeks, but still, needed to say it.

if you forgot like me where your first seeker token was. Get the trickster and seeker perk and make a night in an inn, before you start the spinx quest. So you can jump back if you can't make it in time. It will consume a lot of time but so you can avoid to mess up the quest

I am where you are. SphinxParent is NOT in this rift. Looking through the list, there are: 2 SphinxMother's and 2 SphinxFather's... I will leave and reload and see if it changes. I am lvl 25 btw.

Pro Tip: First Seeker's token you can possibly find will be right after making your Main Pawn, on top of the blacksmith hut, accessible by climbing a nearby cart and clearing a small gap between roofs. Interested in seeing what happens if you do this riddle without having found ANY tokens, though!

Can I just say, the sheer fact you can just walk up to any NPC, pick them up and carry a mfer around makes this game the chefs kiss. Now I know it's not the only game to implement this but there aren't many where you can just pick anyone up and put them where you want them.

For those struggling to find sphinx parent as there is a TON of copy cat trolls. Turn off your network in settings then search link rift stone of fellowship and find the parent that way. Once done turn back on your network. Simples.

When you disable online one of your pawns can become the SphinxParent, but if you want to look for it the sphinx parent is made by CAPCOM.

Little tip: When having to transport NPCs, you can use the Sealing Phial instead of having to physically carry them. It's also one of the easiest ways to complete escort quests since they'll be safe in the phial.

You're correct but it's not about speed it's about precision, the vase in one of the riddles shows where nor to hit her (head and chest) just hit the other parts of her and you can defeat her, idid it by myself without pawns so they couldn't screw me over

A few things I'd suggest is 1 give her the port crystal to get a extra one. 2 after the 5th riddle immediately climb on her so you can fly to the second location. 3 you can hit the sphinx in any beast area not just her wing

Found near half a dozen Seeker's Tokens before finding my first in a harpy nest. This is why I never trust 'riddles' in video games. They are so rarely actual riddles and usually just fetch/kill quests with a gimmick duct taped on. If I hadn't looked this up I'd have spent days treating them like actual riddles and solving one or two accidentally.

Wanted to throw out there. If you can clear it, you should. There's a quest giver around the ancient battlegrounds named Oskar. Accept the quest after clearing, and escort him through the castle again. He'll reward you with something i think you'd like.

9:02 it might be wise to level up to acquire about 1,000 RCs in order to recruit the “SphinxMother” pawn. If you don’t have enough, you can’t finish this riddle. 16:33 it might be quicker to get back to Checkpoint Rest Town by using a Ferrystone back to Vermund and just use an Oxcart to get back there. 18:41 lure him towards the edge and throw a stone him to knock him over, then yeet him off the cliff.
