সৌম্যজিৎকে আমি প্রথম দেখেছিলাম হাওড়া ইন্ডোর স্টেডিয়ামে সা রে গা মা পা অনুষ্ঠানের প্রতিযোগী হিসাবে, প্রথম দর্শণেই ভালো লেগেছিলো, ছবিও তুলেছিলাম ওর ... উচ্চাঙ্গ সংগীতের যথাযথ তালিম নিয়ে সেদিনের লাজুক, স্বল্পভাষী সৌম্যজিৎ আজ এমন উচ্চতায় পৌঁছে গেছে যেখানে ওকে অনেক বেশী সাবলীল, প্রাণবন্ত লাগে শুনতে। আমি সৌম্যজিতের উত্তরোত্তর শ্রীবৃদ্ধি কামনা করি।

Now it is time that singers from other communities all round the world are also encouraged to render these songs , so that it is not confined amongst Bengali singers. Ravindra sangeet is not meant for only one community . It has got universal appeal and therefore singers around the world come forward to popularise the mysticism of the songs to all.
