Yeah they’re fairly small for Megabats. I’ve seen them in person and they are pretty little compared to Australian flying foxes.

What a little sweet pea! People need education about bats, they aren’t scary! Nor will they “get in your hair,” (my personal favorite myth), or swoop down to bite you! (Unless your a huge mosquito or piece of fruit 😉). It’s very easy to help the bat population in your area. Their ‘homes’ are slowly being destroyed with deforestation. All you have to do is put up a bat box or 2. It gives them a nice place to live and your area’s mosquito and bug population will go way down! They can eat up to 6000 insects per bat, per night and watching them come out at dusk to eat is like watching a ballet in the sky. Not all bats eat fruit. Find out what bats you have in your area and you’ll know what type of bat house to get. 😊
