I grew up with this always in the background since, I was raised by my grandparents & this was my Gram's favorite show.. she was watching re-runs everyday.. back to back (3) episodes in-a-row every day, five days a week.. I said I'd never watch that show.. afrer my Gram past away & I had moved out & away to the city, I got only local channels & could not afford cable.. after work at one of my 1st jobs I'd come to my lonely apartment & ran into the line-up again.. only two episodes back-to-back for an hour a day I'd watch t & saw why Gram liked it so much.. I was hooked & over the next ten years through saturdays & sundays also, had a two hour marathon each werkend & thru the 1990's into early 2000's I watched it on re-runs still & then on TV land & other retro cable channels.. it faded away but, I will once in awhile look it up & watch a marathon again.. it reminds me of my dear old Gram & better days in my youth when I had quiet time & liked to watch tv.. it brings back good memories.. & I enjoyed laughing again seeing these clips you two, too! 😊 A show that took its place in the re-run category from my high school & early 20's era was watching Roseanne.. cuz, it reminded me so much of how humor was between my grandparents growing g up & other characters on the show resembled people I grew up with in my family & community.. both these left a lasting impression on me.. & they just don't make tv sitcoms like they used to.. re-runs are the best.. many shows were enjoyed over the years.. there's another I cannot think of at the moment.. it went from 2001 to 2008 (I'm pretty accurate with this)-it was a chubby middle age couple with two elementary school (6,7, 8th grade at the start of show ending the shows run with both boy & girl graduating high school & the girl being a Senior I think)-anyway, the wife was a saucy attractive brunette & the boy was a nerd & daughter kinda slutty & dumb.. oh yeah, the mom had a dizzy sister that did not get along with her husband.. it was set in Chicago land suburbs & the dad was an appliance salesman & mom was a dental hygienist.. look up name of show & watch this one if ya like some good laughs.. it comes in third as a favorite I liked but, just cannot remember the name of it but, I've given enough to do a search & find the chubby dad, sexy mom two kids set in Chicago circa 2000 to 2009-ish.. ck it out.. I just subscribed.. .maybe later, I can comment again if I find the name of it?

Bea(trice) Arthur gave us all so many laughs on the silver screen. It all started so humbly for her in a one-episode guest star role on _All In The Family_ ,as Edith’s “Cousin Maude” Findlay, who comes over to take care of the entire family when Archie, Edith, Mike and Gloria all fall ill at the same time. The executives at CBS were so impressed, they gave her her own spin-off series with that character, called _Maude_ . One of her neighbors was played by Rue McClamahan, who had marginally more television experience, including a role she also had for one episode of _All In The Family_ , albeit a different one than Bea Arthur. Bea Arthur also co-starred alongside Betty White as Rose Nylund and Estelle Getty as her sassy Sicilian mother Sophia Petrillo in _The Golden Girls_ .

Loved the show back in the 80's...still love it today! I can identify more with their characters today as well. It's so sad all 4 ladies are gone now.

Fun fact, Dorothy was actually a year older than Sophia, who played her Mom.

What was also amazing about this show is how hilarious they were with no cursing or overtly crude lines. It’s witty and well-timed delivery of comedy!

Bea Arthur also starred in a show called Maude back in the 70s. She was awesome in that show as well! 😂

Rose: “I just had a thought.” Dorothy: “Congratulations.” Blanche: “Way to go.” Sofia: “Good for you.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That went TOO hard!!!!!

I was 13 when this show aired. We watched it most weeks. Of course, I’ve seen a lot of the episodes in syndication too. It was regularly on at my grandma’s house from her late 80s until her death at 98.

You really need to see the full episodes. Especially the ones where Rose (Betty White) tells her St. Olif stories. They are hilarious!!

I watched this, Cheers, and Frazier when I was about 7 or 8 years old! Love, love, LOVE this show! On weekends I used to watch the channel, ‘TV Land’ to watch even older shows like, B*witched, Happy Days, Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Dick VanDyke Show, etc.
