Hahaha I feel ya I grew up in San diego took me 30yrs to be convinced to move Dubai. Expo was a Great move at your end love what that community has to offer it's future investors they are many years ahead when it comes to infrastructure compare to upcoming neighbouring communities. @@tahirmajithia Hi Tahir, my main reason to buy a Dubai property (Sky Residence) is that Short term rental business is much more smoother in Dubai than in the U.S. My plan is to get the experience of airbnb in Dubai and then if it turns out to be fruitful, I will gradually expand. Like Ahmed said, ‘Test the waters’ lol.

Listening to ahmed specially in the last section about everything he mentioned as a difference between so called developed european countries like italy n Switzerland is 100% correct. I got almost robbed by 3 thieves in paris metro on my 2nd day there with my wife. Everytime i travelled to europen countries and Canada i start telling myself and my wife how blessed we are to be at the right place at the right time in Dubai. God bless UAE!

Canadas rent tribunal where tenant landlord disputes are heard is outdated. Landlords are suffering as tenants turn rogue and stop paying rent and the system is so lethargic and complicated that investors are now not willing to invest in rental properties. Anybody in the right mind after reading and listening to such disputes will never entertain the thought of investing in rental properties ever

So if an American invests in US offplan property and re-sells, and then re-invests they can qualify for 1031 exchange.

Yes indeed its possible The IRS rules for 1031 exchanges are strict, so follow them closely. include form 8824in your tax return, notifying the IRS of the exchange and informing them what property you sold and what property you purchased as part of the exchange.
