Jeff is the reason I play music. He's changed my life for the better in an immeasurable way. Don't give up if you are struggling, get in touch with anyone, even me, you never know what impact your life has on people and who could be willing to help, but reach out! You are worthwhile

May Jeff’s passing be a lesson for many of us. It can happen to any of us, but never be afraid to reach out for and/or accept help from those around u. So many have gone because they don’t want to be a burden to those around them, when most times we will find comfort in the peers that we confide our trouble in or theirs on us. It can be as simple as one call, one “hang in there, u got this”, one quick beer to talk to someone u care about, etc. Whatever it may be, none of us have to go through this life feeling alone and hopeless. There is always reason to keep on truckin, even if u have to dig for it, don’t give in, the world provides plenty of light to fight the dark. So next time you see one of your tribe down, lift them up, you never know how significant simple words of love can be on a drowning soul. Rest In Peace brother. Peace love and Strings.

See my above comment, Jeff is the reason I play music which has completely changed my life. I wonder if knowing something like that would have helped him. The absolute least I could have done would be to talk on the phone with him! If anyone is reading this and is in a bad state get in touch with me and i'll talk to you. We never should have lost Jeff

Before they started playing, I ran up to the stage and say "hey Jeff. It's great to see you!" Seemed distant. After this set, I thought "man, Jeff didn't take a solo at all." Seemed odd. Fucking sad man. Loved this dude so damn much. Rest easy brother

I know this is said all the time but for those in a dark place in life just please remember suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I have gone through and continue to go through depression but I know everyone has ups and downs. Our downs may be lower and longer but they are absolutely not permanent. Finding that one purpose in life will make all the difference and over the last couple of years that has been my answer. God bless and much love to all. Jeff will be missed dearly. 🙂

On November 4, a staggering number of musicians, most stalwarts of the scene I came to love through Yonder, will pay tribute to Austin. That list includes but isn’t limited to the Jeff Austin Band, Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass, Leftover Salmon, the Infamous Stringdusters, the Travelin’ McCourys, Hot Rize, Keller Williams, Billy Strings, and Yonder Mountain String Band. Each act will perform for 15 minutes with all proceeds benefiting the Jeff Austin Family Fund. Originally slated for the Mission Ballroom (capacity 3,950), the overwhelming interest and support forced a move to the 1stBANK Center in Broomfield (capacity 6,500).

@@johnjohnsin3762Anything Jeff did was amazing but after seeing him for many many years I cant say this video is freaking great and not because its his last performance. Its because one can hear he’s having trouble in the way he is playing like hes only going thru the motions and not there. Sad to see it but I comeback and watch from time to time✌️🙏
@@matthewcollins5344 it's the Segway into the last song that sticks with me, if only 😔. That and the Hartford grunt song 😊

Yes. That evening’s late night set was. Gonna miss his awkward timed jokes and the great jam faces. I truely hope the burdens and pains of life were left on earth so his soul can transcend into the afterlife free of the pain and the complexity this place often plagues upon mankind. Be free as u cross into the great divide brother. U will be greatly missed. Celebrated, not mourned. RIP buddy. We will meet again someday.
