Oh ok. Must been replaced already. Everyone I've came across leaves the threads in the engine.

Great videos, another way to go is to use a hose barb with a hose clamp and you also replace the hose with the normal buy by the foot stuff. It costs less and gets rid of any chance it will leak in the future.

This is exactly what happened to my 99 Yukon yesterday. Where the fitting screws into the manifold it started leaking. It looks pretty corroded so I'm afraid to try and take it out and end up having to take the whole manifold off to rethread it in case it breaks

Just now..11/23/21..my corroded fitting broke off clean in the manifold when I tried to remove it. If it happens, I suggest the $10 Lisle intake fitting removal extractor bit at all of the parts houses. It worked for me..you got to really pound it down in there all the way so that the sharp ribs really bite in..I had to use several long 1/2 inch extensions and breaker bar and another cheater bar..the bit is worth it's weight in gold and saved me heartache today.

You are lucky the old one didn't break off and then have to dig out the remains.....

Great tip on leaving the R Cap on. I never even thought of squeezing the hose. Brilliant!

I'm watching. I'm going to replace the fitting with threaded pipe and cut the heater hose quick connect off and put it on the pipe and clamp it. Just because I don't trust the wiggle in this set-up, even with the all new parts you have..how could that wiggle not leak?
