I see an episode on the repair of your amp in the future. Or following a repair shop through the process?

I feel your pain. After putting together a new system someone pulled infront of me and stopped in the road, ofcourse i couldnt avoid a collision, car is totalled. After having the system in 3-4 hours tops, not even dialed in all the way. Definatley took away my drive to do another, hell what the insurance gave me i can only get a hoopty, i really rather not waste money on a junker

my friend Joe at Carmil Car Audio, had JUST got his insane SQ system tuned perfect, and everyone heard it but him, he got hit by an un insured driver on the way home, and hadnt even got to listen himself. totalled the VW, had tones of neon, carbon fiber, Performance stuff ect

@@CarAudioEnthusiasts why would someone change lanes in front of me then come to a quick stop in the road❓

@@CarAudioEnthusiasts yep, insurance said they did file a medical claim, probably did it before cause they were in a Audi. That's a hell of a chance to take they could get plowed over to oblivion

Sorry to hear that. That’s pretty shitty :~(

That's terrible man I'm having some bad luck too with my salt 3 amplifier it plays fine for about 40 minutes then the bass go so high, it sounds like it's going to blow my subs. Then it plays hardly no bass at all but still plays. That's why I purchased the Sia 3500 from GP Audio. Just waiting on it to cool off so I can change it out. I have checked everything, it has to be the amp.
@JasonWW20002 ай бұрын
Wow, I've never heard of an amp do that before. You can check the tightness of the rca jack's. Spray some electrical contact cleaner into and on the rcas. Wiggle all the knobs/controls in case they oxidized. If using the amps bass knob, remove and clean the plug contacts. Make sure the cable isn't damaged. A bad bass knob signal can cause the output to go up and down, but not any louder than if the bass knob is unplugged.

Sorry to hear that, ive heard some messy things about salt amps, from the big dogs
@MrSpike03582 ай бұрын
Yeah, i even disconnected the bass knob to see if thay was the culprit, it wasn't, its crazy because it plays fine for about 40 minutes, i believe something inside is heating up causing the issue. I've only had it 2 years, very good electrical, its getting 14.0 v at full tilt.@JasonWW2000
@JasonWW20002 ай бұрын
@MrSpike0358 Yeah, some little component inside could be getting hot and causing the issue. There's ways of testing that. A quick fix might be adding a fan to cool the inside. That's an expensive amp, does it have a good warranty?
@MrSpike03582 ай бұрын
Well I do have dual fans that I kick on when the amplifier gets above 105 degrees Fahrenheit and warranty is just out warranty, was only 2 years. I did notice that the amp does vibrate a little bit at high bass could be something has come loose inside. I even contacted the amp lab to see if they could find what the problem was with the amplifier but they said since it was intermediate they couldn't do anything. @JasonWW2000 yeah I paid $1,200 for that amplifier
@JasonWW20002 ай бұрын
Aren't you using your Audio Dynamics DSP? Does it not put out enough voltage?
@CarAudioEnthusiasts2 ай бұрын
I am, Carmil Just suggest uping the voltage with a line level booster, he has a ton of experience with these amps, and I roll with his advice.
@JasonWW20002 ай бұрын
@CarAudioEnthusiasts Have you every messed with an Epicenter like device? I picked up what I think is the best version, the Wavtech bassRESTOR. It has a line driver built in. 2 volts in can give 7.2v out. It's rated for 10v rms out, but that might require 3 or 4 volts in, I guess. Anyway, it's a very cool device. Once dialed in it can add a bass note to older tunes. Old country, Bee Gees, Depeche Mode, 80's rock, whatever. It can also add just a little extra bottom end to modern music. It's like adding some seasoning to a meal. Add a little bass enhancement, but not too much. It's something to think about later on.

@@JasonWW2000 yea those work bu boosting a harmonic of the low note, theyre pretty cool, ive had a couple, and yea i might do one in the Tahoe, well see!

Have you checked how high a frequency you can hear your subs play? Do you still need that front sub?

all that is on the table for today, but youre right the wall is playing much wider than the box before. ill have some good basic numbers after today though.

@CarAudioEnthusiasts This is why I'm thinking of shrinking my cabin volume. I can have a box behind the second row seats firing forward and then make a clear partition above it to isolate the rear hatch area. I don't need a big c pillar wall. Just a partition. Maybe use the rear window from a Chevy avalanche or cut some plexiglass sheet. I want to still see behind me. Lol Speaking of that, you may need to add a camera setup so you can see what's going on behind you.
